I thought they wanted to negotiate. Or that we were wiping our hands of the situation. Fair chance he declares victory and says we now own Iran or he's their new Shah before the weekend is over.

Im guessing it's apparent now but at least the world can clearly see what we are dealing with. I don't know if that helps but I feel a little better if people start looking at us with pity instead of rage.

US Law states that the Pentagon will do everything in their power to keep US Troops out of Civilian Locations and the law says the Pentagon must use their best efforts to separate Military personnel and Civilians and keep US military members out of Civilian locations to protect civilian Lives and Civilian Property damage. A Pentagon led by Hegseth is now reportedly in direct violation of our Own US Laws of War. ​

The Pentagon may have violated its own rules of war by moving troops from U.S. bases, targeted by Iran, to hotels and other civilian locations in the Middle East region, the New York Times reported.

Since the start of the conflict, initiated by President Donald Trump’s missile strikes, Iranian forces have been targeting U.S. bases throughout the region. Bases, such as the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia and the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, have been damaged and at least a dozen service members have been killed.


As a result, troops have been moved to office spaces and hotels throughout the region where they’ve been working remotely, military personnel told the New York Times last month.

If true, this could mean the Defense Department has violated a U.S. Law of War, which says officials must use their best efforts to distinguish military forces from others to mitigate civilian casualties and property damage.

LONDON/PARIS, April 2 (Reuters) - About 40 countries are discussing joint action to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to stop Iran holding "the global economy hostage," Britain said on Thursday, after U.S. President Donald Trump said securing the waterway was for others to resolve.

British foreign minister Yvette Cooper said Iran's "recklessness" in blockading the waterway was "hitting our global economic security" as she chaired the virtual meeting, which included France, Germany, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and India.

"We have seen Iran hijack an international shipping route to hold the global economy hostage," Cooper said in opening remarks broadcast to the media before the rest of the meeting took place behind closed doors.


The United States did not attend the talks, one official said. The discussions, involving representatives of some 40 countries, took place after Trump said on Wednesday evening that the Strait could open "naturally" and it was the responsibility of countries that rely on the waterway to ensure it was open.

Russia says it's ready to help resolve Iran conflict​

MOSCOW, April 2 (Reuters) - Russia is ready to contribute to resolving the Iran conflict and President Vladimir Putin is continuing to talk with regional leaders, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

"The president is continuing these contacts, and if our services are somehow required, we are, of course, ready to make our contribution to ensuring that the military situation transitions to a peaceful course as soon as possible," Peskov told reporters.

I'm glad we're fortunate that N. Korea's Kim Jong Un hasn't been acting up by making threatening suggestions as to what he wants to do against the U. S. with his nuclear armed missiles.

Austria closes airspace to US military​

Austria has denied the United States permission to use its airspace for military operations related to the war with Iran, citing the country’s long‑standing policy of neutrality.

A spokesperson for Austria’s defense ministry told Newsweek on Thursday: “For reasons of neutrality, Austria refuses overflights and the transit of troops if these would serve to provide military support to a party to any conflicts. If it is known that a military aircraft or military vehicle is directly or indirectly involved in a conflict, overflight or transit will be denied in consultation with the ministry of foreign affairs.”

Iranian official involved in peace talks and arranging meeting with US VP Vance Critically Injured and his Wife Killed in US-Israeli strike​

A senior Iranian official involved in talks to end the war was critically injured in an air strike on Thursday, according to Iranian media reports.

Kamal Kharazi, an adviser to the government and former foreign minister, was reportedly working with Pakistan on possible US-Iran negotiations.


He was targeted at his home in Tehran in a joint US-Israeli strike early on Thursday, according to Iranian newspapers Shargh, Etemad and Ham Mihan. The strike also killed his wife, reports said.

Mr Kharazi suffered severe injuries and was taken to hospital following the attack, which was carried out around the same time as Donald Trump delivered an address in which he said the United States was “very close” to ending the war with Iran.

Commentators have described the attack as an attempt to derail diplomacy because of Mr Kharazi’s role in overseeing engagement with Pakistan for a possible in-person meeting between Iranian officials and JD Vance, the US vice-president.

Mr Vance communicated with intermediaries from Pakistan about the Iran conflict as recently as Tuesday, according to reports. The strike on Mr Kharazi complicates that already fragile picture.

Iranian officials told mediators they were still waiting for approval from “top leadership” before any in-person meeting could go ahead, and the killing of a diplomat seen as central to those arrangements would probably deepen Tehran’s mistrust of Washington’s intentions.
