Israel under attack

Using the demographic data above, there should have been several hundred more children deaths and nearly double the number of female deaths if Israel was just carpet bombing.

Are you attributing that to “dumb luck”?
No, I am not willing to call that "limiting collateral damage".

Homosexuals and women are typically not treated very well in Palestine .
There is a very interesting underlying premise to what you wrote that I am not sure you or others that say it realize: "It doesn't make sense to value and advocate for the lives of those who would disagree with your mores or potentially repress other groups you look to protect."

That assertion is pretty troubling to me.

It’s not so much that the Palestinians “disagree “ with the LGBT ”mores” as it is that they will murder you because of it and nobody in the ME (with the exception of Israel) will bat an eye. I mean if you disagree with me we can probably work it out but if you openly state that you want to chop my head off I’m probably not going to spend the better part of two weeks defending you at every opportunity. It’s like chickens protesting for KFC. Absolute insanity.

Orthodox church says it was hit by Israeli air strike in Gaza reuters

GAZA, Oct 20 (Reuters) - A Greek Orthodox church in the Gaza Strip which was sheltering hundreds of displaced Palestinians was hit overnight by an Israeli air strike, the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem and Palestinian health officials said.

Gaza's Hamas-run government media office said 18 Christian Palestinians were killed. There was no word from the church on any final death toll.

The Israeli military said a part of the church was damaged in a strike on a militant command centre and it was reviewing the incident.

Palestinian officials said at least 500 Muslims and Christians had taken shelter in the church from Israeli bombardments.

The Orthodox Church said in a statement: "The Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem expresses its strongest condemnation of the Israeli air strike that has struck its church compound in the city of Gaza."

Video from the scene at the church compound showed a wounded boy being carried from rubble in the nighttime. A civil defence worker said two people on upper floors had survived. Those on lower floors had been killed and were still in the rubble, the worker said.

Gaza's 2.3 million population comprises an estimated 1,000 Christians, most of whom are Greek Orthodox.

The Israeli military said its fighter jets had hit a nearby command and control centre that was used to carry out attacks against Israel.

"As a result of the IDF strike, a wall of a church in the area was damaged. We are aware of reports on casualties. The incident is under review," it said.

Israel has pounded densely-populated Gaza, flattening buildings and destroying infrastructure, since Hamas attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7 and killed 1,400 people.

Nearly 3,800 people in Gaza have since been killed by Israeli strikes and more than a million have been made homeless, according to Palestinian health officials. Civilians say their situation is desperate as they run short of food, water, fuel and medical supplies.

Israel appears to be getting closer to a full-scale invasion of Gaza. The Israeli military has massed troops and equipment near the Gaza border.

Sorry folks but military actions have collateral damage, it just happens. I know some people on here excuse Hamas and will lay a lecture on how we don’t understand the apartheid level, Save the innocents, blah, blah, blah. If it was your family killed you would expect retaliation.

Pretty cavalier with the blah blah blah crap @andylicious. If it was your family member I’m positive your opinion of collateral damage would change considerably.

just like if it was your family going through apartheid, your home taken or destroyed, depriving you of political and civil rights, you might understand...or if your family were living in Gaza and being evacuated and denied water, food, electricity, or even killed you would feel different about these innocents, blah, blah, blah...

"save the innocents, blah, blah, blah." wow, your compassionate nature is off the charts! (but it also doesn't surprise me...)

What should Israel's response be to having thousands of missals blasted into them and their women and children raped, mutilated and murdered on 10-7-23?

first of all, try getting your news from other places other than tik tok or x or facebook, etc. It's kind of like the bully finally getting punched in the nose by the picked on kid...I have said before I did not condone the actions of hamas, I also don't condone the actions of Israel on Palestine for decades...

Per Sky News
Hamas has fired an ADDITIONAL 2000+ Missiles into Israel SINCE the attacks begin.

Yes Israel has dropped 6000+ bombs on them and they STILL WON'T STOP firing missiles into Israel.

200+ Missiles have been shot down by Iron Dome in the last 24 Hours ALONE.

The US Navy is even shooting down Cruise Missiles fired from other Houthi forces in Yemen. They shot down 3 yesterday in the first every direct assistance of the US to protect the Israeli Air Space from Missiles ...and Qatar and Saudi's went to bat for the US Navy for doing this and told Yemen to Stand down and that the American Navy did the right thing.

@PF5 The Israelis have EVERY right to protect themselves, their country, and their lives from these continued attacks. And make no mistake it has been continued attack after attack from Hamas every day. Your painting with only 1/2 the colors man, Israelis are still being killed every day in Hamas attacks as well. Israel is returning the favor 10 fold every time.

First of all, try answering the question. What would you have Israel do?

At some point someone has to stand up and say enough voilence. That what I would hope the Israelis would do but based on thier actions and the thoughts displayed in this thread I’m pretty sure they think they are the ones to do that. And on the other side it’s pretty clear Hamas doesn’t either. At this point im a little suprised a nuke hasn’t been used. Although with Jerusalem bing there that would probably have most of the world turn against who ever used a nuke near such a holy site. Revenge is a crappy thing to want ultimately. But it’s a hard thing to get past. What we have are two sides continuously trying to get revenge(and yes the first Hamas attack at the beginning of the month was based in revenge). It won’t end until someone stands up and truly tries to stop the violence. I have very little hope either side will end up being the bigger group. All I see is two groups hell bent on exterminating the other side.

Be more specific please. Tlaib or Green?
both ?

They are both pushing the most extreme stance they can without just straight up getting Sh** canned for being too extreme.

The Centrist members of both parties need a long hard look at themselves and start getting these people out.

Somehow we have created an "Acceptable' level or ignorance, misinformation, corruption and stupidity for Congress members....it all flies directly in the face of Democracy
