Houston at OSU

Josh:

Harrison competed well and gave us everything he had. Houston did a good job of elevating his pitch count. They get him out early and they battled our bullpen and had a big swing of the bat.

Their best pitcher came out of the bullpen and is the nations leader in strikeouts per nine innings.

The game you just played is important as competitors to learn from it, but have to adjust and be ready to play tomorrow.

Almost like they had an offensive strategy other than “swing for the fence on every pitch 5 feet outside the zone”.

What excuses will Dave and Tom come up with now that they haven’t already used? The stadium is too nice? The smell of the grills is distracting and too tempting for the players? The orange seats are too bright?
I’m sure it will be an excuse with the added admonition of “the fans need to stay loyal and true, even though they have untrained eyes”

Does the staff even want to play? Had a window to play earlier and weren't proactive and now sitting on rain most of the night and tomorrow morning/early afternoon. Might not get another game in for this series.

Could've tried to play 2 yesterday afternoon starting at 1pm, could have moved up the start time today. Series all over the midwest have adjusted schedules and played DH's this weekend to get games in. Maybe the "trained eye" had a better look at the forecast and radar that all of us did!!
