Coach Gundy

Congrats I’m a Man, you’ve presided over one of the singular most disappointing seasons in college football history.

Wipe the smug look off your face and the dismissive nobody else knows what they’re talking about approach and get out.

You spit in the face of people who supported and defended you to the end. You lived with the benefits of some of the absolute friendliest media anywhere in the country. But in the end, you still couldn’t hide your arrogance and disdain for anyone who stated the obvious-your team sucks and there’s nowhere to point the finger but you and your staff.

How an individual could be in the game at this level for so long and make such an egregious PR mistake is completely beyond me.

Get rid of him now. It’s only going to cost more if you prolong it and give him any sense that he still controls things. It’s time to see if CW is the guy to lead an athletic department in this era.

has anyone heard the sports animal guys saying that it is foolish for fans to want fire Gundy i wonder if they will keep saying come monday but i would love to hear what Sam Mayes would say if he say this year's team

The only way he changes is if he is challenged that this is the legacy he leaves. I can't believe he double downed today with more crap.

I don’t listen to the sports animal but i would say to do the exact opposite of what the OU media machine says we should do.

So the context there is what you’ve read on this board: most successful OSU coach ever. And it’s a fair point and unarguable.

Thing is though, you have to also acknowledge unprecedented resources poured into the program, Texas on a 13 year down cycle, and still ONE conference title. Dave Arranda has as many.

The simple fact is that the landscape has changed. You can’t view the world through the‘we’ve got to find the guy who’ll have great success and stay here 15 years’ prism anymore. Ask John Smith.

When the sport moves on, you can either adapt, or hang on to your dinosaur lifer who’s an alum. Meanwhile the world passes you by.

I’ve supported Gundy for years, but this season and this week has ended that. He’s not bigger than the program, period. The notion that he’s the only one who could produce these results smacks of an inferiority complex that’s understandable given our history, but also out of context in today’s environment.

His comments Monday smack of a guy that believes he’s the only one that can win at OSU and we should all be thankful he’s here.

You think Gundy cares about his "legacy"? What makes you think that?

I think Gundy cares about money, family, and huntin' in that order. I don't think he cares about OSU, the fans, or future generations of either.

Honestly, if we want change, then we just have to apply a very slight amount of valid criticisms his way and watch him implode and throw a tantrum like a 5 year old.

He’s got to be worth close to 9 figures at this point. I don’t think money is as big of a driver as you do. That said, none of us would willingly walk away from an additional $25mil.

I also think you’re spot on in previous post. Whether it was his agent, an attorney (his or ours), or the Admin, someone told him very clearly not to say the type of things he said Monday.

The only way someone with this large of ego wouldn't care about their legacy is if they were a COMPLETE idiot.

Reporter: You said passing was erratic, why do you think Bowman was erratic
Gundy: I didn't say Bowman was erratic I said passing was erratic, there is a big difference

Since I am a failure can someone explain the difference in the two statements? Other than Gundy doesn't want to criticize his ride or die Bowman

Cause Smith had one play where he & the WR weren’t on the same page, and the 1 INT during his 4:00 of game time.
That evens out with everything Bowman’s done up to this point.

He's making just over $2.58 mil per win this season. With a win being against an FCS team and another being against Tulsa.... remember when he overperformed his salary.
