Christian Nationalism

I don't know about 100%, probably more like 95% of the time, but I agree the ones that focus in on it excessively usually have a few skeletons in the closet. However, they do say
64% of all the world's statistics are made up right there on the spot. 82.4% of people believe 'em whether they're accurate statistics or not. I don't know what you believe but I do know there's no doubt
I need another double shot of something 90 proof, I got too much to think about. 😉

Id say there is a 75% chance you are right.

Regardless of what a preachers personal views are, telling their congregation sign this or go to hell is just gross.

A Colorado megachurch pastor linked LGBTQ people to child traffickers before pressuring congregants to sign anti-trans ballot petitions.

"You’re a traitor" to Jesus if you don't sign them, he said.

This is spiritual blackmail.

I can’t find anywhere in the Bible that states that signing a ballot petition is a condition of salvation. But Jesus in Matthew 7:15 warns us to beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing, of the predators who disguise themselves with gentleness but preach division and hatred and their own gain.

I am so tired of this garbage.

December 25th is a made up date, but December is a pretty good guess for his actual birth month.
I am not doubting you and enjoy your Christian experience and posts. I understand the made up date on the 25th but want to hear more about December being a good guess. Is it based on the census narrative and fleeing?

It has more to do with Hebrew accounting of significant events. It’s a little difficult to explain and I don’t have my OT studies notes, they are in a box in my storage unit. But the Hebrews had a system for accounting for significant events and based on the system December is a reasonable time frame for Jesus’ birth. Traditions developed around December very early.

So they are ok shunning people who enter their church? That's about as far from the point of going to church as it gets.

Sound like a selective group. That's fair. We allow selective groups in this country. There are country clubs, gyms with membership etc.
Just start paying your freakin' taxes and all is fine.

Mathew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’

How do we know we practices lawlessness? Jesus tells us?

Matthew 30:41-43
“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’

Note that he is saying this to those that preached in his name.

The pastor who would deny communion to illegal aliens will one day call out “lord lord! I preached in your name!”

You will know them by their fruit. For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Jesus extended it to the one who betrayed him and the one who denied him. Even washed their feet.
And to extend it even further, the pastor is making an argument that you must obey the laws of the land to receive communion: I would be curious to hear his thoughts on Jesus extending salvation to the other criminal on the cross next to him. I mean, clearly, Jesus shouldn't have done this as the man hadn't obeyed the laws since he was being executed for his crimes.

The hand wringing that must go down when these Christians meet their God and try to explain their views must be something to behold.
