Big 12 Baseball Championship

Keisel has been dealt with a shoulder injury. Is it rob Waltons fault…Absolutely not…that would equivalent to blaming Charlie Dickey for all the OL injuries. We lose 8-9 our top pitchers to draft/graduation. Our starting rotation and closer, long relief was drafted. Not an excuse, just reality. Last years group was healthy which is why they had success.

Asking freshmen to coming in and pitch major innings. Just reality. If you point to a team that’s pitching with a bunch of young players I’d love to know. Finally, this team won a big XII title with a fairly young staff….safe to say the sky isn’t falling.
I guess i just have higher expectations, injuries or not. He got JWB out of the portal and he was regarded very highly. I mean hell he was the preseason big 12 pitcher of the year... his disappointment is not necessarily Rob's fault. The football parallel is apples to oranges, freak injuries happen. I do also know that pitching and arm health is a science, one that people make lots of money to research. There are way more controllables in pitching than a contact sport like football. Modern day pitching, with the increased velocities, ridiculous number of pitches already on an athlete by the time they make it to campus due to year round leagues, lessons, etc requires precise management. Maybe Rob needs to adjust to the latest research. And maybe he has, i have no way of knowing. I think it is fair to ask these questions though after under performing years. That is how you continue improving.

Difference of having high expectations and reality. Reality is injuries happen. Part of sports….players have stepped up enough to get the job done for the most part this season.

JWB hasn’t lived up to the hype…it happens. First time he’s face tough competition on a weekly basis and didn’t handle it well especially in the back end of conference play. Transfer portal kids in baseball are a crap shoot…Some prospects make better pros than collegiate. Go look up victor mederos…he’s already in double A ball pitching. If you don’t think rob isn’t up to date with modern day pitching…sadly you must follow the program close enough. Again injuries happen in sports…Arkansas has lost their entire pitching rotation to injuries…maybe they should question their pitching coach in regards to how they manage their arms lmao…

Last year we’re healthy, most years we’ve been healthy pitching wise, now all of a sudden it’s robs fault?? Pitching has performed to expectations…found a way to win the big XII. If you thought this group was going to be dominant; i truly feel sorry for you. They were the question mark coming into the season. Hasn’t been pretty but for the most part they’ve got the job done. Most fans will tell you this group was going to be up and down…fortunately they’ve been up more than down

If ut gets knocked out today, we can knockout wvu and hopefully squeak out one more win, I'll feel pretty confident about getting a host spot. Surely they'll give at least one of the 3 co-champs a host spot, and we'd have the leg up of the 3 in the above scenario. If we lose to wvu today then I'd bet we get a 2 seed somewhere.

Probably at Arky if we don't host. Either way, they'll match us with our nemesis ORU. We seem to do much better against them in regionals. But last projection I saw had ORU as a four seed in Stillwater. That's a hell of a damn good 4 seed team.
