That is what I remember. May have been one or the other, but I think the claim was "out of network" providers.

I'm just imagining the coroner getting a toxic screen back on some dude he was convinced was coked out of his mind, sighing, and giving a $20 to the EMT who brought him in the next time he sees him.
That's messed up. The whole system between hospitals and insurance is messed up but that's really messed up. The cheapest possible care at the highest possible premium.
