American Healthcare continues to go backward

The facade of “follow the science” has fallen. Today RFK went on Fox in all out antivaxxer mode.

But RFK Jr, the guy taking raw milk shots in the White House, the guy publishing reports with 7 fake citations, the guy who went from hating Trump to believing in him wholeheartedly, you can trust him.

RFK Jr. sent Congress 'medical disinformation' to defend COVID vaccine schedule change

A document circulated to members of Congress misinterprets studies and cites debunked research, scientists say. It could influence congressional perceptions of vaccine safety.

Tells you how stupid and idiotic republican senators are. They voted for him.

This took me 5 seconds to find

MEASLES:

"Early trials:
Several studies, like the one conducted in Chile in 1962, and others in the US, used placebo-controlled trials to evaluate the efficacy of live measles vaccines. "

And the billions of vaccines given worldwide each year.

There is so much data on all this stuff that if there was an unreasonable risk associated with one drug/procedure/vaccine/whatever it would be pulled in a second. And heck, even if you truly believe that drug companies only care about the bottom line then you gotta remember if they put something out into the public that knowingly causes harm they are gonna get sued into oblivion the minute it gets figured out.

Its less conspiracy and more idiocy

The Trump administration plans to reconsider a ban on the last type of asbestos still used in the U.S., according to a court filing. The move sets back a decades-long effort to end the use of the material, which is widely banned in other countries.

Trump's EPA intends to reverse a ban on asbestos, a carcinogen that causes disease and death from exposure.

FROM https://arstechnica.com/health/2025/06/trumps-epa-to-reconsider-ban-on-cancer-causing-asbestos/ Trump has a thing for asbestos. In his 1997 book The Art of the Comeback, Trump wrote that asbestos is "100% safe, once applied," and blamed the mob for its reputation as a carcinogen, writing: "I believe that the movement against asbestos was led by the mob, because it was often mob-related companies that would do the asbestos removal." Well, how does Trump think asbestos was banned in the first place?

Absolutely not a word of what he said was true.

All vaccines have adverse effects and we know pretty damn well what those potential adverse effects are and what the potential risks are. As a pharmacist I would never tell a parent that they were not wise to be concerned about the risks of any medication, including vaccines, that they were about to give their children. And I've had this discussion with my daughter about my grandson. But to consider the risks of the vaccines without considering the risks of the diseases they prevent is to consider only half of the equation. Vaccines have been so effective that we have forgotten the real risks posed by smallpox, polio, measles, etc. Pre-vaccine, during measles pandemics as many as 1 in 7 children died. Entire families would be wiped out. The eradication of smallpox is the single greatest public health accomplishment in history and RFK Jr would undo it.

I've posted this before, from CDC data:

I'd just like to point out the fact that he was a Democrat yesterday.

My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer today, my father had a lung biopsy scheduled this week and they are fairly confident he has lung cancer as well

Since COVID both of them have been putting food grade chlorine and hydrogen peroxide into a nebulizer and inhaling it

They are convinced it's the only reason they made it through COVID and are convinced it cures Cancer

Florida Republican who almost died from ectopic pregnancy blames Democrats, not abortion ban

Kat Cammack doesn't believe Florida's abortion ban was at fault for her near-death experience, but instead blames Democrats for "fearmongering." bit.ly/3Gh6t7M

This is a perfect example of what @KK10 was talking about earlier.

She had an ectopic pregnancy. It doesn't matter how you feel about abortion-that isn't it. The fetus isn't viable and the mother's life is in serious danger if it isn't removed. Based on the article the drug she was given is used for this, but is also used in abortion procedures so its use is questionable in some states (including Florida) and doctors are understandably hesitant to use it. This could have been an opportunity for learning. A female pro life politician who experienced an ectopic pregnancy could have gone back to her caucus and said we need to fix this. It should get bipartisan support-no matter your party doing something to save lives is something we should all agree on.

But no, pro choice advocates (allegedly-didn't see a quote she was referencing in the article) use her experience to troll her. And she doubles down blaming the opposition party because that's what passes for political discourse now.

Guessing nothing will change with the Florida law, no one will learn their lesson, and a few pregnant women will die because of it. This is a stupidly wasted opportunity for bipartisanship.
