Why should the U. S. have hundreds of military bases? Evidentially, the one that got hit didn't discourage a big flare up of ever-increasing tensions in the Mideast. If this escalation leads to the price of oil going over $100 a barrel, I won't be surprised. What next, Iran sinks a big military ship? Drones are hopefully easier to defend against than missile attacks.

3 as in China, but interestingly enough one of them is an espionage facility in Cuba. But at least that is countered by the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. The article said that the majority of Russia's military bases and facilities are located in former Soviet republics. Our country is fortunate to have hardly any foreign military bases on our side of the world. But I'm not surprised Russia doesn't like or trust all the American military bases in Europe after having survived major military onslaughts by Hitler and Napoleon in its history. And not being honest about additional NATO countries would NOT be admitted before its borders. As a result, the Ukraine War.How many do you consider “Very few”?
