It’s because Tom isn’t ready for all the attention yetGood to see some quality JUCO arms commit because we appear to have had zero portal additions to date. Josh needs to get the pitching coach hire done asap to help firm up the recruiting class. He's known for a month now (at least) that Rob was retiring, I'm surprised we haven't heard anything.
6’ 2”, so about 7” too short.JUCO RHP commits to good guys!! We have 4-5 JUCO pitchers in this class
They’ve been good to us in the past with players6’ 2”, so about 7” too short.
Very good numbers. 2.09 ERA in 65 innings, .90 whip, 9.9 k’s per 9, and a KO/BB of 4:1. Good control. Low 90’s. CAC is a solid program.

Does anyone have any insight into this hire? It appears Josh has gone "somewhat" outside the family as he doesn't have any obvious OSU ties but I'm guessing there is at least some level of a connection via Matt and their time as Cardinals teammates. He appears to have an interesting resume ... not a ton of time spent as a college pitching coach, but a MLB career along with experience as a agent/scout for the Boras Corp. Looks like he did decent at Oregon and had a strong season as pitching coach at Fullerton about 8 years ago.Ladies and gentleman…your new pitching coach. From Oregon
Kind of my thoughts as well. Not a home run hire but an interesting one with maybe some high upside. For all the criticism of Rob, the pitching staff has been more dependable than our offense (at least in the regular season, a few regionals lately have been another story) the last several years so Hawksworth has his work cut out for him to keep the young arms in place, add a few pieces via the portal (which Rob was excellent at) and hopefully continue having an above average pitching staff. We'll see about Hawksworth. Not a bad hire, but it's not like its a home run on paper, either. First thing we'll see is if he can do some work in the portal AND keep some of our young arms.
