As if this isn’t sad and infuriating enough, those who only care about the pre-born will now dig up everything they can about this poor dead teenager to lie and say that this is all her fault and the law did nothing to harm her and stupid people make stupid decisions yada, yada yada.

The federal government needs to quit pussyfooting around this crap. EMTALA has severe penalties and widespread investigation ability once the report is made. They must fine these hospitals doing this crap as money is the only thing that matters to them. Dead teens don’t matter unless it costs them a few million. And, needs to be federal fines not malpractice.

I get why certain states are having trouble keep OB staff and departments running. Dr's have to chose between potential license and state fine issues for treating or federal fines and patient's health impacts for not.

The town I live in had 6 OB Dr options when we moved here 21 years ago and ZERO hospitals .. 10 years ago they had 2 OB for everyone and TWO brand new multi story hospitals

Today there are THREE multi story hospitals ...NONE of the hospitals have a dedicated OB department and rotate OBs through for emergency visits only ....and ZERO practicing OBs in the entire town ... every woman has to travel 30+ miles to see the closest practicing OBGYN

Ran into one of the former OBs that helped with my wife during her high risk pregnancy at a football game last week. She and the other OB that were the last practicing shut down their practices Post COVID and both started working as Drs at local weight loss clinics

That's crazy to me. How can the hospitals not hire specifically for that? If there is that much demand for hospitals, there must be some demand for women's health as well, at least enough to have 1 or 2 full time Drs.

My local hospital is closing down their OB ward next March and will start referring patients to Mankato (hr drive) away.

They (Mayo) claim it's because of staffing and lower births in the area but the hospital 20 miles away (Avera affiliated) seems to have no problem staffing their OB ward.

The whole thing seems sketch to me as it seems like the plan is to turn our local hospital into an ER and little else.

So, I looked online for the New York Times poll, and it says Harris is ahead 49 to 48%. She is also slightly ahead in the Electoral College but not up to 270. Reminds me of the time Alex Jones said there was this awful medical condition going on and to look it up. I searched it and the first thing that came back was there is no such thing. It would be against freedom of speech, but I wouldn't mind much if the next person after Trump who gets silenced is Alex Jones.

sometimes headlines can be deceiving...sometimes even the stories are...I have even seen social media posts be downright lies!!!

I don't blame you. How can evangelicals be for Trump now? Probably the no. 1 reason why they were for Trump was because he claimed to be pro-life and would put on the Supreme Court judges the same way. As they desired Roe vs Wade was overturned. But what happened? Evangelicals got passed extreme anti-about laws. In backlash, states one by one have been voting to establish rights to abortion. To them a good response from Trump would be to support a nationwide ban on abortion, but he isn't doing it.

Why should they trust Trump as a Christian, anyway? From all the awful things he has said and done, he has referred to himself as a Christian but in at least one speech, he pointed to himself and said, "I'm not a Christian". He has such a strange viewpoint on asking God for forgiveness that he thinks he doesn't need to because he doesn't make mistakes.

The parade is sponsored by the volunteer fire department, which released a statement apologizing for the "offensive" display.

Westmoreland County Republican Committee chair Bill Bretz told the TV station his group did not approve of the float.

“The worst part of it was that there was either a rope or a chain attached to the back of the vehicle," said Mayor Diane Bailey, "and there was a woman who was to resemble Kamala Harris in handcuffs and chained to the back of the vehicle as though they were dragging her."
