2024 Presidential Election

No what you see with your own eyess and ears and saw it LIVe when. T happened...is inaccurate

CNN: *plays clip of Trump saying "I'm gonna do it whether the women like it or not"*

BYRON DONALDS: That is grossly inaccurate what you just played

What a poor choice of words. Not needed at all to make a point. Women might as well take it to also mean, "I'm going to sexually assault you whether you like it or not." No need to hear what Trump said before or after.

Mark my words now...he WILL try to use manipulate betting odds to PROVE the election was stolen....

Partisan polls and anonymous betting markets are building up Republicans’ expectations and cementing the idea that the only way Donald Trump can lose to Kamala Harris is if the election is rigged. Trump could use that to challenge the result.

I hope Trump gets sentenced to prison in November to shut up his nonsense for at least 5 years.

They also could be having the effect of suppressing MAGA voters from going to vote because they are convinced it's in the bag.

I like to think positive thoughts so I'm going with that.

I have a confession: I am addicted to polls...I can't stop looking at them daily hourly...my favorite ones show a split with one showing trump ahead, the other showing Harris ahead...my fear is that the polls are wrong again (remember 2016&20?) and they are once again underestimating the republicans...but then again, polls in 2022 (while trying to fix this problem) underestimated democrats...what do I do? stop looking at these polls? (note: I have a problem and no self discipline)...do I continue to look at these stupid polls and just pay more attention to the one(s) that show me the results I want to see? I'm so confused....OK, that's all, thanks for listening...VOTE BLUE!

Can you be any more out of touch with the Voters ??

A Florida school board candidate lost his race. DeSantis appointed him to the board anyway

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida school board candidate who lost his race in a county south of Jacksonville will get a seat on the board anyway, after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis tapped him to fill a vacancy.

Derek Barrs will take an open seat on the Flagler County School Board in northeast Florida, succeeding a member who resigned in September, allowing DeSantis to appoint a replacement rather than the seat going on the ballot for voters to decide.

Barrs is a consultant with infrastructure design firm HNTB and a retired chief of the Florida Highway Patrol who campaigned with a focus on school safety and student achievement. He won DeSantis’ endorsement in his bid for the board but lost his Aug. 20 race by 290 votes to Janie Ruddy, a former teacher in the district.

DeSantis has done more to influence local education policies and politics than any Florida governor in recent memory. In the name of “parental rights”, DeSantis has banned instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity and limited what Florida schools can teach about racism and U.S. history, and he’s both endorsed a slate of his preferred candidates and targeted incumbent members he wants voted out.

“Derek is a candidate who is committed to fighting for schools to get back to the fundamentals," DeSantis said in his endorsement of Barrs. “Derek has pledged to serve on the school board with a focus on student success, parental rights, and curriculum transparency.”

In an interview with The Associated Press, Barrs pushed back on the assertion that he might owe DeSantis his political allegiance on the board, saying he’s focused on building relationships across the community and improving outcomes for all students.

“I don’t owe anybody anything,” Barrs said, “other than working for our students every day and making sure that they have the best quality education possible in our school district.”

Under state law, the governor can appoint someone to fill a vacant state or county seat if there's less than 28 months left in the term for that office.

It’s not the first time a DeSantis-endorsed school board candidate has lost their race and been elevated into office anyway.

In August, the governor tapped Daniel Foganholi for a slot on the State Board of Education after he lost his bid to keep his seat on the Broward County School Board by more than 30%. DeSantis had appointed Foganholi to the Fort Lauderdale-area school board two times, though Foganholi never won an election to the body.

Hehe, BBC.
That's because you were taken in by the BBC! FILTHY BRITISH LIES! But did they ever say a bad word about Winston Churchill? CHURCHILL! BLEUGH! With his cigars, and his brandy, and his ROTTEN paintings! ROTTEN!

Hitler - there was a painter! He could paint an entire apartment in one afternoon! Two coats!

Every time someone says BBC I think of this movie quote and laugh.

Although funny, that is NOT what @cowboyinexile was referencing.

They will use this as proof and claim that Millions of Votes were done this way. System seems to have worked as expected. Guy was caught, was charged and is facing serious legal issues. Only a State Law standing in the way of having the ballot removed (not a Federal Issue).

Chinese national in Michigan casts irretrievable ballot in US election, now faces charges

A Chinese national studying at the University of Michigan is facing serious charges after officials say he voted this past weekend in the battleground state.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit announced the charges against the student on Wednesday. They did not name the student.

Reporting from the Detroit News, part of the USA TODAY Network, identified the student as a 19-year-old from China who is legally in the U.S. but isn't a citizen, and therefore ineligible to cast a ballot,

The voter registered to vote on Sunday using his identification from the University of Michigan signed a document identifying himself as a U.S. citizen and his ballot was entered into a tabulator, the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office told the Detroit News.

"We’re grateful for the swift action of the clerk in this case, who took the appropriate steps and referred the case to law enforcement," according to a joint statement from Benson and Savit.

The ballot is expected to still count

The vote was cast at an early-voting site at the University of Michigan and is expected to still count even though it was illegally cast. That is because there is no way for election officials to retrieve it once it's been put through a tabulator, which is done so ballots cannot be traced to an individual voter.

Neither Benson's nor Savit's office immediately responded to USA TODAY's question about whom the non-citizen voted for.

"Anyone who attempts to vote illegally faces significant consequences, including but not limited to arrest and prosecution,” Benson and Savit said.

Chinese national faces multiple charges

The unidentified Chinese national faces two charges: being an unauthorized elector attempting to vote and perjury.

They face up to 19 years in prison if convicted of both charges

“Let this be clear: Voting records are public – any noncitizen who attempts to vote fraudulently in Michigan will be exposing themselves to great risk and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Benson and Savit said.

Voter fraud is extremely rare

While voter fraud grabs headlines when it does occur, it is rare, according to election experts. Of 42 voting jurisdictions in the 2016 election, officials only referred 30 suspected cases of noncitizens voting out of 23.5 million votes cast, according to research from the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice.

The center concluded that noncitizen votes accounted for just 0.0001% of those jurisdiction’s votes in that presidential election.
