I'm starting to get the feeling our salary budget is decidedly subpar.
I’m pretty sure the university is not gonna use single engine airplanes for university business. I’m not real sure they’ll even approve anything that isn’t a jet.Bingo. Although, and I ask cause I'm very ignorant here, is that the kind of aircraft one would expect a D1 coaching candidate to take back and forth?
That would make sense given his background in WA/MT. I have no clue as to $ and/or terms being thrown around as well as comparison.U Washington really wants Sprinkle. I hope Chad offers him a lot of dough. And a good office. Heck, Chad should offer his own office. And all the Joe's cheese fries he can eat. And a tab at the Stonewall.
And the Houston/A&M game was just crazy. This Grand Canyon vs Bama game is insane.
Correct.I’m pretty sure the university is not gonna use single engine airplanes for university business. I’m not real sure they’ll even approve anything that isn’t a jet.
Personally, if a Cessna 400 rolled up to the FBO to pick me up for an interview for head coach of basketball position, I’d go back to the parking lot and drive home.
We are a value oriented University. Fly there in a 400 and rent a Bombardier Global for a couple of hours on the runway to conduct the interview on.I’m pretty sure the university is not gonna use single engine airplanes for university business. I believe the mess comment was over stated. Are there challenges yes, but using the word mess gets clicks. I wonder how McCollum will be received though if he is the selection since likely others were the first choice.Unless the train has gone completely off the tracks, I would hope we hear an announcement today or tomorrow.
Don’t know why anyone would be panicking at this point. A couple of solid candidates just finished up their seasons yesterday. Stargazer said the hire won’t be made until after April 15 . If we get to that date without a coach, yes, there should be panic and it’s “a mess”.
Coaches are always going to look for long term security. Unsurprisingly based on past experience, Chad is going to be hesitant to grant much of that. I’d imagine that to be a bigger issue in discussions than annual salary or NIL.
This is why I'm not worried. Lots of good candidates. Sprinkle, Medved, Kelsey, Lutz, McCullom. I read a little about Medved and he's moved up my list. If we end up with McCullom, I'll be a little worried about the first few years, but he's a winner. I know I and others really wanted DeVries, but objectively, none are a definite home run and all come with some risks.View attachment 4129

Updated with availability and likelihood based on the rumor mill.
I wouldn't hate McCullom, but be prepared for the hate train from the general fans, and its a lot of risk for Weiberg's first major hire.Based on the most recent grid posted above by Poke2010, it seems fair to assume that two of the four listed in this post are going to either stay or move to a school in their geographic area, Sprinkle and Kelsey. That leaves Medved and McCollum. Medved doesn't impress me. McCollum does. Hope ADCW offers McCollum.
I would be happy to get him. Not sure why he hasn't moved up before now but, that track reacord is impressive.I wouldn't hate McCullom, but be prepared for the hate train from the general fans, and its a lot of risk for Weiberg's first major hire.
