VP issues warning to Denmark over Greenland

Depends. Im guessing some think your children not my children but honestly I don't know anyone that is in support of this. This seems like such a weird hill to die on.

But hey we aren't talking about Epstein (except for asking about what Hillary knew apparently).
Strategically I’m surprisingly in favor of the US negotiating a large long term military presence on Greenland in complete cooperation w Denmark, Greenland and NATO. Complete w significant compensation for leasing large swaths of Greenland and the arctic for resource recovery that includes 1/4 to 1/3 royalty provisions for the Greenland people. It would also have to be complete w environmental and occupational protections.

But the genius behind “the art of the deal” has completely eff’d a fair negotiating position and has now left us to look like colonizers.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, President Trump says he doesn't care if the U.S. taking Greenland upsets NATO.

“If it affects NATO, then it affects NATO. But, you know, they need us much more than we need them, I will tell you that right now," he said.

I bet Greenlanders think they would get a dirty deal out of being bought. They each get a $10,000+ allowance plus free health care and education. Likely all that would be gone and possibly Trump would want to change Greenland to Trumpland, though maybe he wouldn't, considering there isn't much there. But on second thought, it looks like a fairly huge country on a map, much bigger than Iceland. Oops, will Trump want Iceland?

BREAKING: Germany, Sweden, and Norway are all now sending troops to Greenland following Trump's threats to annex the island, per Reuters.

Who had “The USA will be the Axis versus the Allies in WWIII” on their world events bingo card?

Note: Yes I’m being intentionally hyperbolic, but…..damn.

I've never seen more homoerotic gushing toward one may in my life. 10's of 1000's of men line up to call him daddy and don't even understand why they do it.

Jesse Watters chides Europe for not giving Greenland to 'daddy' Trump

I believe it is overwhelmingly in America's national interest to acquire Greenland ... the whole history of America has been a history of acquiring new lands and new territories"

Do these older politicians, who are talking like Cruz, encouraging their children and grandchildren to join the military, in case trying to take new lands results in war? Trump could also be insane enough to help Israel by invading Iran. The recent conflict there failed to topple Iran from within.

Raises a very interesting question. When I went to Afghanistan and then was promptly detoured to prepare for the war in Iraq, I didn't really feel that the war made sense but I was not so against it that I was not going to serve my country.

If this Greenland insanity did get to the point that we decide to attack and the NATO nations declare war against us, where do you stand?

That's something that could lead to a civil war.

You know more about military structure than I do but Im guessing you would have members who range from following orders to loyalty to a commanding officer they respect to 100% in support or Trump to looking at him like the rest of us to not wanting to commit a war crime to probably anything between all that stuff. The civilian population is probably looking at the same thing along with a bunch of people who would want to keep their head down and pretend none of this is happening and also a bunch of people who don't pay attention/care about anything other than their daily lives. The outcome of him doing something so blindingly stupid would be complete chaos.

Ill add the fact that this is even in the realm of possibility should be enough to invoke the 25th and/or begin impeachment proceedings.

If our president is willing to commit to a war against generational allies where we are 100% in the wrong then he shouldn't be president anymore. I don't see another politician in the country willing to go this far. And it seems like it's less about strategic decisions with him and more about vanity and legacy. You simply cannot have someone like that with this much power.

I would pray that American troops would refuse to fight. If not I don't want to see a single Greenlander die but instead see bodies of the invaders piling up.

Hopefully the Generals would relieve Trump of his duties before it happened.

For the first time in U.S. history, the archbishop responsible for Catholic pastoral care of U.S. service members said military officers may be morally obligated to disobey a sitting president’s orders.

Archbishop Timothy Broglio said a Trump-ordered invasion of Greenland would violate Catholic teaching and that Catholic troops could refuse to comply.

Hopefully I'll be standing in a far away country.

If not, I'll be flying a NATO flag from my front porch.
