Good on ya Dems ! Good deal .sweep these extremist morons out of both parties

BREAKING: DNC Vice Chair David Hogg has been OUSTED from his position after a late-night vote despite considerable last minute lobbying from Tim Walz and James Carville.

Hogg now holds the record as the shortest tenure of a vice chair of the DNC. ☠️☠️☠️

Technically it was due to a procedural issue when he was elected.

In reality I'm guessing it had more to do with his attempts to primary older democratic representatives with younger politicians who would have more appeal to his generation. So I'm guessing it had less to do with his politics and more to do with that.

Just going to say. The Tim Walz and James Carvilles have been doing so swell that Donald Trump has been elected twice.

Yeah it’s the old people not wanting to lose power.

What was the procedural issue. I didn't know he was elected and couldn't pick him out of a line up haven't followed it at all but when I hear a political organization outs someone that fast "procedural issue" sounds like a justification after the fact that it was controversial for some reason.

No idea. It was him and another vice chair. It sounds like it was voted to proceed with a vote for removal or something like that. The whole thing is weird.

I found this article interesting:

“Our country is in crisis, and too many leaders in the Democratic Party are asleep at the wheel. Trump is on a mission to crash our economy, disappear people without due process, and participate in flagrant public corruption — and voters still trust him more than Democrats,” Hogg said in his statement. “That is a massive indictment of our party.”

‐--------------------------

He isn't wrong. I think he feels like the leaders in his party are more interested in maintaining power through the status quo than advocating for their constituents. And the potential outcome of this is pretty telling. I find it interesting that people say they want change and more accountability from their representatives, but when someone tries to do that, he is seen as an extremist in his own party.

"On Friday, for instance, Democratic analysts wrung their hands when Hogg said that elected Democrats should prioritize the concerns of their constituents over their own political aspirations.

In a fiery response in an interview on “Real Time With Bill Maher,” Hogg said: “There’ve been a few members that have come out, that have said, ‘Well, you know, if I retire my life is effectively over.’ And what I would say is: ‘Get over yourself. This isn’t about you, this is about our country and it’s about your constituents.”

The constituents are “who you’re there to serve and if they choose to serve somebody else, so be it,” he went on, adding that providing voters with an option other than an incumbent is one of the primary goals of Leaders We Deserve."

Representatives should be thinking about their constituents, not about themselves. Politician shouldn't be a career. Its called public service for a reason.

This was my takeaway too. I disagreed with Hogg on a lot of things, including 2A, but getting rid of new blood in favor of milquetoast septuagenarians still clinging to power is a complete misstep.

These people dont just have bad ideas, they are bad at politics too.

How long has Walz been a major national DNC voice? I could be way wrong but I thought he was kind of a nobody a few years ago. I wouldn't put him in the same group as James Carville.

Not that i am supporting this action or saying he should be in charge of the DNC or anything.

Prior to the VP nomination he wasn't a big name outside of the state. When the media started debating who the VP pick should be, it quickly centered on a moderate Democratic governor from the middle America. Most of the talk was about Beshears and Shapiro with Walz a distant 3rd as far as what I read. And IMO one of the big incentives for picking Walz may have been that Minnesotas lieutenant governor is a Native American female.

I have no issue with Walz. But the current leadership of the Democrates which includes him now have been weak for 25 years.
Edit: spelling

Even the ones that keep the grid going instead of killing it?

The oil and gas industry makes huge money every year. They don't need subsidies to survive and develop.

I'm not getting into an argument over this with you and Donny tonight because I don't have it in me today. But see the link below for report on costs by energy type this year.

Renewables don't solve everything but they should be used when and where it makes sense with certain other sources to cover when needed. We need to modernize across the board intelligently and that doesnt mean just keep running fossil fuels. Further development in renewables along with massive increases to nuclear use can drive need for fossil fuels much lower over long term.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would wonder who is behind the democrats doing everything they can to lose to the most divisive and defeatable candidate ever.

It would have been difficult for them to have crafted a better way to lose than what they did.

I’ve been very critical of Bernie Sanders here. And with IMO good reason. He absolutely got screwed in the primary against Hillary. He went on Adam Schultz podcast….im old and not as cool as I once was and didn’t know much about him. That was a step for Bernie….that ain’t exactly his crowd after minimal research. So Schultz said something like Dems don’t feel like their voice was heard in the last 4 elections and brought up that that was a threat to democracy…..Bernie said no argument here….thats the marketing the party needs.
