US continues to go backward...

IMO, ethical attorneys in the DOJ are in a no win situation. If they stay and fight for the rule of law, independence from the unitary executive instead of fealty to it, and justice over retribution/revenge…..they’re either getting fired or silenced. So publicly and loudly resigning may be the one option they have to at least try to make a difference.

Trump’s total capture of and destruction of the independence of the DOJ is my co-biggest concern along with his attempt capture the command elements of the military to the point that they might choose allegiance to him over their duty to the Constitution. In truth, they’re pretty much the same thing. Both are supposed to be dedicated to the Constitution and the rule of law, over anything or anyone else.

IMO, I wish the AG was an elected position at the Federal level like it is in most, if not all States. That wish and five bucks might get me a Starbuck’s coffee, but that’s about it.
Topical…

@CowboyJD or anyone who knows more, do all these DOJ attorneys resigning because our DOJ is now fraudulent help by showing there is an issue or just harm us further because they are clearing all the ethical attorneys out?

Of all the Trump stuff, I think the DOJ worries me the most. If our justice system becomes a big fraud, and it seems it is half way there, we will not ever be what we were.
that was a question I have as well...seems to me, this is going to be BAD; ethical/good out, unethical/minions in...tRump is destroying (IMO), much faster than I anticipated, but just goes to show you can tear things down much faster than build them up...

It's true. It's just honest history, not about teaching hate or treason. According to my cousin, at least one of my ancestors on my father's side was killed by Indians defending their land. He was exploring in Kentucky with Daniel Boone and company. His sister might have been the first woman to cross the Cumberland Gap. My cousin also claims that Davy Crocket got his first rifle from our gggg grandfather, John Canaday. He was a Quaker.

My earliest ancestry in America dates back to Jamestown in 1608 when, James Taylor, came over on the first supply ship and joined the original settlers of 1607. I am Taylor's 9th grandson. So, I had an ancestor, who came over before the Mayflower. I hope it's true.

By around 1900 my ancestors on both sides of the family decided to quit moving west by settling in north central Oklahoma where most of them and subsequent children have elected to remain ever since. An exception was that cousin whose mother married a man who said the place to be was Chicago where they moved.

If other countries boycott the world cup, maybe the US can finally get a win!

That's dumb and not really winning. I mean, that would be as silly some other country's person winning the Nobel Peace Prize and someone powerful from our country attacking their country and pressuring that person to give it to them as "winning" a Nobel Prize.

A friend of mine bought 2 tickets to the game in Seattle on June 26th before the schedule was announced. $800 each, and he got Egypt vs. Iran. Womp womp.
My plan right now for opening rounds are:

Haiti/Scotland
England/Ghana
Norway/France

All in Boston.

Tickets are running about $700 each before fees. Staying in Boston with in-laws to save money on hotels.
