Topical…IMO, ethical attorneys in the DOJ are in a no win situation. If they stay and fight for the rule of law, independence from the unitary executive instead of fealty to it, and justice over retribution/revenge…..they’re either getting fired or silenced. So publicly and loudly resigning may be the one option they have to at least try to make a difference.
Trump’s total capture of and destruction of the independence of the DOJ is my co-biggest concern along with his attempt capture the command elements of the military to the point that they might choose allegiance to him over their duty to the Constitution. In truth, they’re pretty much the same thing. Both are supposed to be dedicated to the Constitution and the rule of law, over anything or anyone else.
IMO, I wish the AG was an elected position at the Federal level like it is in most, if not all States. That wish and five bucks might get me a Starbuck’s coffee, but that’s about it.
