US continues to go backward...

I didn't realize Kirk was involved in Jan 6th. He pled the 5th when questioned by congress. This seems really out of character for someone being painted now as a champion of democracy. I wonder how many of the people he bussed there were convicted. Heck, I wonder what his involvement was. Seems like he would have more in common with Pence than Trump if he's the God fearing man people claim.

I'm no Kimmel fan, but the government going after him for something as benign as that speech?
Sadly, people that claim to be for "freedom" will be all over it.

This isn't the country I fought for. I'm getting seriously worried we are about to be fighting again.

Kimmel then mocked Trump's reaction to Kirk's death, who was the one announcing the conservative activist's death to the nation.

"[Trump is] at the fourth stage of grief construction, demolition, construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish," Kimmel said.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Kimmel is not very funny, but to be let go after the most milquetoast of comments does not bode well. Did anyone watch Trump's comments on Kirk?

Completely unconcerned and self-centered, as usual.

Now do it across 50 states in a way that doesn't violate employee and employer privacy laws

And infringe on anyone's first amendment rights


Remember your responding to a post where a GOP congressman called on the Sec of Education to begin monitoring ALL teachers in ALL states for this ONE incident


Tell me how they do it.

I'm glad you saw one teacher in Ardmore go through it...now reconcile that monitoring of speech across all teachers and all states while complying with all states laws, all federal laws and the US Constitution

And the federal government dictating what speech will or won’t be allowed all the way down to the individual school employee….not because the speech constitutes a crime, but because the federal government doesn’t like the speech and wants to suppress it.

The party of small government and for the 1st Amendment indeed. :rolleyes:
