US continues to go backward...

But, to be fair, that's what modern Christianity is. Hate this group, this person, those people that may be different than you. They are definitely the reason the world is going to crap.
Home work assignment:

Pick a church, any church in wherever you live. I’m assuming Denver. Let me know if this is what they preach on Sunday.

Yeah. If someone has MAGA in their bio anything they say lacks credibility.

Question (to people in general)-how much did you talk about Kirk on social media before last week? Did you watch anything of his videos other than short clips? Im just curious how popular he was prior to this. And Im not talking I knew who he was and liked/hated him because of what you assumed he stood for. How many people actually cared about what he had to say enough to talk about it beyond a Facebook comment.

No it doesn’t and moving the goal post is a bitch move. Mile asked “Show me examples of him trying to bring people together. For anybody other than white males, that is.”

Regardless of the relocated goal post, Charlie brought non white males together at Black Leadership Summit. Just because you didn’t like the messenger doesn’t mean disprove anything.

To answer you though, my story was similar to Kaizens. Thought he was just the prove me wrong guy dunking on liberals but learned he was a lot more than that after awhile. Talking politics isn’t something that wins friends in social scenes so I didn’t go around talking about him often. He got assassinated last week though and there’s a bunch of sick fucks saying wrong stuff about him now. So, here I am.

IMO the problem with conservative Christians is they listen to politicians holding up bibles more than they listen to preachers holding up bibles.

You’re not wrong. Is there a particular age demographic that is worse than others or is it a blend?

At my church, we’re taught politicians shouldn’t be idealized in the same breath as Jesus.

I wasn't the one who said show me, so no goalposts here. Every time I see someone post something trying to prove their point, I look at the source before I even consider it. Its something I learned seeing gogetum's "Im not a Trump guy but" posts. If it says MAGA or is violently leftist in the personal description then its not worth my time to even think about.

Ok, so you are here because you don't like what people said about him. You identified with him and he died in a public gruesome fashion and it bothers you that its celebrated by some? Why does that bother you? I think people celebrating his or any high profile death is awful, but I started hearing the why behind why people did it. I could write a donny style rant over what I have found out but Ill leave that for now.

If it bothers you to the point of being more actively involved in political discussion, did you try and understand why people celebrated his death or did you just assume they were terrible people?

Just because a black MAGA delivered the message doesn’t mean the answer to Mile is discredited. I could go find a link to the summit but I thought the perspective of a black man was important.

I haven’t asked why people are saying bad things about him because there’s no need to ask. Their statements are dead giveaways. Each statement is typically claims and assertions of racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc. Those topics are typically viewed as huge turnoffs. So, there’s the reason. The claims are easily destroyed by the truth in Charlie’s work. His work is all filmed.

Film don’t lie.

In the last several years I've been to cowboy church in Oklahoma which was great, a church in Scottsdale preaching prosperity gospel which was not so great, and Sunnybrook in Stillwater which is solid. So 2/3 is good.

Not sure on demographics, we all know older conservatives who have Fox News on 24/7. But social media is every bit as siloed and politics are more and more pervasive there. I just keep going back to our media being completely screwed. We can't have a unified country when we're fed two separate realities and both sides tell us what we're supposed to think rather than just keep us informed.

Today I saw a video of several people going to church for the first time, some in 20 years, some for the first time in their life... all because of Charlie Kirk. Was pretty moving. A dad said "Going to church for the first time. Bought my first suit. I need to be a better Dad. Charlie inspired me."

Or it starts with listening to far Christian right preachers and moving on to vote to make them politicians as in State Sen. Dusty Deevers. Of course, such preachers have a head start in Red States, since they are so deeply devoted to the 3 G's as the most important issues to advocate for, meaning to be pro-God(ban all abortion), pro-Gun and anti-Gay.

Yes, film doesn't lie. And there is a ton of film, some posted here that gives you a pretty good idea of why he is a controversial figure.

So you are unwilling to understand why people despised him, you just know that they do so it turns into us vs them. Don't you think that's a problem?

I don’t know how you get it’s us vs them out of that. If I some claimed you were racist and I had absolute guaranteed film that proves otherwise wouldn’t you want that correction?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been proven wrong on something and then respectfully and gratefully taken the correction. Why dig my heels in against the truth?

and then there´s the other ones who now are getting away from churches and Christianity because of all these so-called Godly men who are phonies, and see many Christians that are friends and family members who put these dudes on a pedestal because they mentioned God, or the Bible, or quoted a scripture. I know it´s not a reason to move away from Christianity, but I don´t want anything to do with this new version of Christians or Christianity.
