I have sympathy for his family, and anybody at the rally that saw it happen. That's not going to be an easy thing to forget.

It's not yet known who the suspected shooter was, as of 3:50 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, only that police say one person is in custody in relation to the shooting.

they released the man they detained. the shooter is still at large
 
Political violence is a real harbinger of what is to come--we better get a handle on this as a country. First the Minnesota State House assassination and now this. And I am assuming that today's event was an assassination too since it was a lone gunman, 200 yards away and Kirk was the only target.

no matter how much I disagree with someone, the only assassination I would openly cheer for is Putin.
Nobody deserves that for what they say, no matter how vile. And the fact that his family will never be able to not see it…horrible

I don't think they were. I saw Glenn Beck claim his daughter was there, but I think Glenn meant his own 19 year old daughter and not Charlie's toddler. I could be wrong, but I think it makes sense for Glenn Beck to have a 19 year old daugher in Utah.

Regardless.. They are going to have to see their Dad die over and over and over, for the rest of their lives. Horrible. Sucks completely

It almost seems like when our politicians quit acting like statesmen and start acting like high school bullies and call other politicians things like “enemy”, “thug”, “traitor,” or “evil” then make claims like “they hate America” or “they are sick people” some followers think that means that violence is the proper response.

Nah, can’t be that! Let’s not be introspective about our own actions. Let’s just tell them to stop. That should work.
