Allegedly, it appears that Cory Mills had a fight with his girlfriend in DC that resulted in possible assault. He is married and has two kids back in Florida.

I think these kind of stories as it relates to politicians are a dime a dozen. I almost expect it now from these clowns.
Affair partner in DC while your spouse is at home holding down the fort?
Doing shady stuff in your "luxury apartment" in DC?
Par for the course.

The law enforcement's lack of procedure in these instances is concerning. They almost should give more scrutiny to these situations where a victim "recants" the assertion they were assaulted. Especially in this case, where it seems the responding LEOs were actually witnesses to the coercion from the perpetrator in real time. These situations seem like danger to a victim is more probable after the fact.
I relate my own personal take to the info coming out in real time about Gabby Petito. It was about 2 weeks of seeming relieved the officers assessed the situation and didn't jump to conclusions and just blame the guy. Then it turns out, in fact, they let her go back with him where he was able to go ahead and kill her. I learned a lot about myself there, and I'm just some dude in Oklahoma reading the news.

They gotta do better.
