the idea is they close those because they are neighbored by another country that also has embassies and didn't think 2 countries that border each other need to both have their own embassies in those region.

Right. Because, as an American citizen in trouble in a foreign country, you will be able to say, “Excuse me, I’m sorry, but my consulate happens to be next door. I will need you to release me so I can cross the border into the neighboring country. Thank you.”

How about closing many of the U. S. military bases in foreign countries? There are so ridiculous many of them it's hard to figure an accurate number but there could be as many as 800 of them. Other countries, such as Russia and China have no where near that many. They could probably be counted on one or two hands at the most.

Trump writes ‘Vladimir, STOP!’ after Russia launches deadliest strikes on Kyiv since last summer​

Moscow sent 70 missiles and 145 drones toward Ukraine, mainly targeting Kyiv, in an attack that leader Volodymyr Zelensky said was aimed at pressuring the United States.


“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

At least 12 people died in the strikes with 90 injured, according to Ukraine’s emergency services, and more casualties may be trapped under rubble. The emergency services said Moscow’s assault struck 13 locations in Kyiv, including residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
