They are thinking there is a non zero chance that one or more may have been.

Again ask me 2 years ago about Pennsylvania and I would have told you no way. Now, when you have right wing influencers coming out with the same talking point less than 24 hrs after the incident happened. It will be interesting to find out what information we can about the alleged shooter.

I think the Trump movement has opened up Pandora's Box of crazy so much that we shouldn't be surprised this is part of the discourse. And they lie and completely fabricate stories at such a rate that it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Having said that, no. No I don't think either was staged.

To be fair everyone is thinking it, or it has at least crossed their mind. No one rational was thinking it a couple if years ago when the first attempt happened. And Im not saying im convinced one way or the other (still haven't been able to confirm if the polymarket rumor is true, but haven't really looked that hard). It's just that the administration has burned any credibility for transparency in major events. And we are looking at the what, 5th attempted or accomplished assassination of a political figure in under 24 months? All of them allegedly by people who to my knowledge aren't criminal masterminds. It just makes you wonder a little.

The fact that people really believe any of this is staged, are the same loonies who scream J6 was a setup by Pelosi. It's pure propaganda produced to further push people over the edge of sanity. It all disgusts me.

I don't believe the Pensylvania one was staged and the little that I know about this one seems even less likely. But, if someone had told me years ago that one of two things would happen in the future:
A. A President loses the election. He creates an entire facade that the results were bogus and tries to get it overturned to the point of storming the capitolto prevent the certification despite absolutely no evidence. Then despite this insanity, is elected the next time around.
B. A person running for office in a close race fakes an assasination attempt and ends up with an iconic picture which helps him to victory.

All thinks considered, I'd say B is more likely.
I still don't think it was staged, but if I was told there is proof it was staged, my response would not be "No way!"

That's where we are right now. And again it's not a red vs blue thing. If this was a typical Republican administration and something like this happened with Rubio or DeSantis I think the reaction would have been similar to what you saw in the aftermath of the Pennsylvania event.

But this administration has given us no reason to take what they are doing at face value. We are in the middle of a war we started out of the blue where the president gives conflicting reports from his own advisors. This war along with other actions by the administration will have economic fallout that will almost certainly get worse before it gets better. They are also trying to bury one of the biggest political stories of the decade that goes beyond politics when there are serious questions about the presidents involvement in the scandal. That isn't even getting to various other domestic policies that are unpopular with swing voters in an election year that historically goes poorly for the party in charge of the government.

Pretty much everything is going against the president right now and this administration has shown a willingness to try and distract the public when things aren't going well. No one is talking about Epstein or gas prices today.

tRump supporters can´t understand why people are now reacting with, meh, when an ´assassination´ attempt happens...think the boy who cried wolf...tRump supporters also have mysteriously forgotten how pissed off they were a few years ago with the gas prices, grocery prices, overall cost of living, etc. Now it´s for the good of the country...truly the only thing that they can possibly point to is the border and getting rid of immigrants, but that has been a $h!t $how...
