Trump 47

President Trump's Justice Department has concluded that a federal law requiring presidential records to be turned over to the government is unconstitutional, a senior White House official tells Axios.

Trump: I get 97% bad publicity. Maybe Karoline Leavitt is doing a poor job. She’s my representative. You’re doing a terrible job. Should we keep her?

That would be wild if he fired her because people don't like him enough

Yep. Medicated to the gills. Slurring words.

This isn’t an update on the war, it’s a really bad sales job.

I ain’t buying.

How did he do arguing before the SC today? I was expecting him to say something stupid but that's a pretty low expectation at this point

All I saw was his "Barack Hussein Obama pallets of cash" ramble and just put 2 and 2 together that this is just him trying to keep his base from fleeing him after flipping on so many campaign promises... I'm just gonna get the recap later, I don't need to watch Truth social rants in real time.

His slurring is so bad though. It starts to just seem normal and then you see a clip of him from 2016 and it's a real "holy sh*t" moment of how bad it really is. The slurring, the coherent rambling. So bad.

However, from what I understand, he’s a heck of a chess player…

Reports I’ve read said he was there for 13 minutes then got up and left.

Iran is a disaster for him.

He ran to stay out of jail and enrich his family. He’s bored and his ego is getting crushed. And the crushing is now coming from people he thought were “allies” like MTG.

If we get elections (which I think we do) and Rs get routed (House yes/Senate will be tough but I did see a poll where Alaskan Sullivan is down 6-7) what are the odds we get a resignation citing health/exhaustion from “working” so hard for the working American? Then in February 2027 he resigns giving JD less than 2 yrs on this term. Couchtabator then pardons him and makes Rubio VP. The tech bros would be banking on 10 yrs of jd and 8 of Rubio who would only be 65 then.

“Stupid people!” Donald Trump slammed the conservative and liberal justices on the Supreme Court at the White House’s Easter luncheon today — after he walked out during the oral arguments today.
Trump says justices he appointed to the bench go against him just to prove that they are free thinkers.

That's been my prediction. After midterms he steps down/is removed so couch boy could potentially get a decade in the office.

That being said does he have the charisma to win a general election? Also it's interesting that the people who complained loudest about the Harris nomination in 2024 would be perfectly fine with the republican nominee mapped out for the next 4 election cycles.

Not sure if this was sarcasm or not.

He can’t argue before the Supreme Court.

He’s not a lawyer.

He sat in the audience, didn’t say a word and didn’t have his phone because Supreme Court rules prohibit phones in the courtroom. Reportedly sat in the front row of the public gallery.

News reports say he left about five minutes into the respondent’s time having listened only to his Solicitor General’s argument.

Funny tidbit. The Justices have one seat reserved for a guest “justices’ seating section”. Guess who sat there today?

Robert DeNiro.

It wasn't sarcasm. I didn't realize he was just going to sit there. I thought he was actually going to get up and speak, which would have been legendary political theater. And yes I realize it would have been something anyone would have considered insane before his 2nd term but we get to see things that are insane every week now so yeah.

That's what I get for half paying attention to something and just assuming the dumbest thing possible is going to happen when it comes to him.

Him getting bored and leaving when his guy was done seems about par for the course with him though.

"They say, I'm voting against him."

Just shows his mentality. The SCOTUS is hearing constitutional arguments, and the narcissist-in-chief thinks they are voting for or against him.

That’s why I responded in the way that I did. Wanted to be very careful to not come off as dismissive or insulting.

Plenty of people, including lawyers, are unfamiliar with the Rules of SCOTUS.

For instance, SCOTUS has their own Supreme Court Bar Association where you have to apply to be licensed to practice before it. The requirements to be a member of the SCOTUS bar aren’t super stringent, but one of the requirements is definitely that you’ve been a licensed attorney for three years before application with no disciplinary actions pronounced or in effect against you. You also have to have two sponsors that are already a member of the SCOTUS Bar that cannot be related to you by blood or marriage.

I’m a law nerd that has always dreamt of arguing before SCOTUS. It’s the only appellate court level that I haven’t made written or oral argument before. I’ve been before the State Supreme Court, State Court of Criminal Appeals, 10th Circuit, 9th Circuit, but never SCOTUS. I have personally witnessed oral argument before SCOTUS several times and read just about every opinion issued during a term. Looks like that dream isn’t going to come true and I’m definitely at peace with that fact.
