Trump 47

I've literally had defense counsel argue that a 1 in 62 septillion chance of a random match could lead to "reasonable doubt" or argue that because those chances are for an sample from a "random unrelated" person.....how can we know what the chances are that a person related to the Defendant didn't commit the crime.

Not good defense counsel, but I've seen it. More than once.

“He’s gone.” Podcaster and conspiracy theorists Alex Jones turns on Trump. Says the president is in “free fall”, and it’s time to “cut bait” with him. Jones adds, “He’s not the man he was last year. We need to be sad about Trump. This is not funny. This is not good. But he’s gone. And that’s it.”

And...... I'm agreeing with Alex Jones.

At one point I thought this guy was THE most outlandish and crazy guy in the Trump admin...and now he is the one saying this about Trump

“I think he’s gone.” Trump’s former White House lawyer Ty Cobb says Trump is “clearly insane”.

And...... I'm agreeing with Alex Jones.
A co-conspiracy friend of Jones, Mike Adams, feels the same way. He started coming around sooner than Jones from not even voting for Trump in 2024, due to Trump's support of Israel's genocide against Gaza. Meanwhile, just how much longer is it going to take for enough Republicans in Congress to feel the same way?

My comments on social media right after having listened to the oral argument on the birthright citizenship case before SCOTUS this morning:

Just finished listening to oral arguments in Trump v. Barbara (birthright citizenship case) before US SCOTUS.

My impression is that there is a solid majority (Brown, Roberts, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Gorsuch) that will hold Trump's executive order unconstitutional or at least unlawful under 8 USC 1401.

I think that five will find it unconstitutional as violative of the 14th Amendment.

I have an impression from their line of questioning that Kavanaugh and Barrett will at least concur in the result with that majority but may avoid reaching the constitutional basis for upholding the lower court decision by relying on statute.

Alito will support the EO as lawful and constitutional. Thomas rarely says a word or asks a question during oral argument, but when he does he shows his hand glaringly. He will vote with Alito based upon his few questions he did have today.

So my prediction is 7-2 reaffirming the lower court decision invalidating Trumps EO.

I think I'm right in that. I sure as hell I hope I am right.
