I thought America after having a military budget bigger than the next 10 biggest countries in the world for decades that it was already "the greatest, most unquestioned, unmatched power in the world.” But then after all that spending is Miller worried that America's hypersonic missiles aren't as advanced as Russia's. American military needs a forensic audit.

For the country? Far worse. He is just one of 50 in the senate. Now he has a huge budget and is running a department that is pretty much the catch all for every security related department that didn't automatically fall under another agency. Lots of power in that position.

Good point. Noem has been a lot of bluster but I forget that she wields (or used to) alot of power. Putting a guy who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed somewhere with that level of authority probably isn't going to go well. Seems to be a common theme with this administration though. Lotta DEI hires in the cabinet.

Exactly. For a group that constantly complained about DEI, they certainly seem to put a lot of unqualified individuals into key roles just because they checked a box. That box mostly being steady appearances on Fox News.
DEI only applies to “others”.
