Trump 47

Trump is bringing Erika Kirk as his special guest to the State of the Union, per Karoline Leavitt.

I wonder if they'll be more fireworks to celebrate the death....er....life.....of her husband?

I bet Erika gets a couch.

Fetterman had a stroke, but I think he has more functioning brain cells than the junior Senator from Oklahoma.

I reserve the right to be wrong if more details come out but it seems there just isn’t anything about our nation’s proud heritage this president isn’t destroying.

The Medal of Honor is given for extreme galantry. I’ve read many of the stories of what is it given for and they are incredible. It isn’t got injured being a good soldier stuff. It is the highest honor and rarely given out, like 900 ever despite huge wars. And it typically takes several years to review reports, interview witness and congressional review to adjucate whether the heroic actions deserve the absolute highest honor. There are other medals for bravery in battle. This is for the most incredible feats of human ability.

This medal being given two months after a raid screams BS Trump politics. Hey, maybe the guy did do something unbelievable. But it would be surprising in a raid like this.

Just another thing that was a proud feature of our great nation, now just a pawn for a narcissist.

In discussing the $1,776 ‘Warrior Dividends’, Trump claimed “we got the money from tariffs and other things.”

They were actually entirely funded by a $2.9 billion appropriation in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which passed in July – a reallocation of funds initially earmarked for an increased housing allowance.

Well, I guess so. The price for a half dozen eggs from Walmart is still the same as it was since last summer--$1.32. But it was just under $1 for a while Biden was president.

Trump spoke for 108 minutes at the State of the Union last night. The New York Times and the Associated Press checked 31 of his claims. Not one was fully true as stated.

Twelve were outright false. Nine were exaggerated beyond the facts. Seven needed serious context to not mislead. Three had no evidence behind them at all. Nothing. From any source.

These were only the claims the fact-checkers had time to check. He made hundreds more.

Both sources. Same result

my two cents on the State of Union gala:

he lied, ALOT...
*said he acquired a stagnant economy, when actually it was trending upwards before he took office.
*said prices were plummeting downward...not where I shop
*said more Americans are working today than at any time...misleading, as the population is also higher than at any time, so the percentage of workers is low.
*gas prices are lower (I just do not buy into the idea that the President has a major influence on gas prices - supply and demand)
*quit saying you ended 8 wars! LOL
*said there is a tremendous renewal in religion...me disagrees, religion is waning in America
*still lying about the Warrior Dividend
*still lying about the immigrants coming from prisons and mental institutions
*still saying there is rampant cheating in elections...(why is a dude that has won 2 out of the last 3 elections saying election fraud is out of control??)
*still saying tariffs are good, although most economist experts disagree
*if we destroyed Iran's nuclear capabilities, why are we threatening to take military action over their nuclear program?
*continues to lie about helping healthcare
*possibly my favorite part of the night was this: “Our country is winning again. In fact, we’re winning so much that we really don’t know what to do about it. People are asking me, ‘Please, please, please, Mister President, we’re winning too much. We can’t take it anymore,’” Trump said before introducing the team. “‘We’re not used to winning in our country until you came along.’” (do people actually believe his fairytales?!) WTF
*sidenote: Erika has to be tired of playing the grieving widow, forcing out tears...(sorry, below the belt...too soon...my bad...I will ask for forgiveness later tonight)

Can anyone explain to me how government funded healthcare is "socialism" but this isn't?
He is giving them access to the Federal Govt Worker Savings Plan but ONLY if they qualify for Low Income

What Donald Trump's new retirement plans mean for millions of Americans

President Donald Trump used his nearly two-hour State of the Union speech to unveil a proposal that would expand savings opportunities to 56 MILLION workers who currently lack access to employer-backed retirement plans.

Why It Matters

According to AARP, a nonprofit focusing on issues affecting older people, around 56 million private-sector workers are employed by companies that do not offer an employer-sponsored retirement plan. A 401(k)—a common U.S. workplace retirement account—allows employees to contribute a portion of their paycheck, often with tax advantages, and many employers match part of those contributions. Over time, the funds are invested and typically withdrawn in retirement.

While Trump touted gains in traditional 401(k) accounts during his administration, he argued that too many Americans remain shut out of workplace plans that offer employer matching contributions—a benefit widely seen as key to building long-term savings.

What To Know
In his address, Trump said millions of private-sector employees work for companies that do not provide retirement plans with matching contributions.

“To remedy this gross disparity, I am announcing that next year my administration will give these oft-forgotten American workers, great people, the people that built our country, access to the same type of retirement plan offered to every federal worker, we will match your contribution with up to $1,000 each year,” Trump said.

The accounts would be modeled on the federal government’s Thrift Savings Plan, which provides retirement savings options for federal employees.

According to Bloomberg, the White House intends to rely on an existing “Savers Match” created under the SECURE 2.0 Act, which was signed into law in 2022. The mechanism would be used to provide an annual $1,000 federal match for eligible low-income workers.

The proposal builds on earlier Republican-backed initiatives. Lawmakers last year passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which established “Trump accounts,” a savings vehicle for children. Under the program, the Treasury Department provides a $1,000 credit for U.S. citizens born between 2025 and 2028, and families can contribute up to $5,000 annually.

Here is the Layout of the Savers Match Program that goes live to Federal Employees in 2027 that Trump claimed last night would be available to 56 MILLION Non Fed Govt Workers who don't have access to an employer sponsored retirement plan at work.

The Saver’s Match is a federal program starting in 2027 that provides a 50% government match on retirement account contributions for eligible low- and moderate-income savers.

Overview

The Saver’s Match, introduced under the SECURE 2.0 law, is designed to help Americans save for retirement by providing a direct government contribution to qualifying retirement accounts, such as IRAs or workplace retirement plans, rather than a tax credit applied to taxes owed. It replaces the non-refundable Saver’s Credit, which was limited in effectiveness because many low-income taxpayers could not fully utilize it.
US News+2

How

So Basically he is stating that 56 MILLION US workers who don't have access to a Employee Sponsored Retirement Plan at work will be eligible to get a match of up to $1000 PER YEAR for this retirement plan.....If ALL 56 Million workers sign up...that will cost $56 BILLION PER YEAR to fund....

but , then we have to take into acct only very low income folks will qualify to be on it. if you make more than $20,500 per year you don't qualify for the full $1000 match and after $35,500 you don't qualify at all for the program
