President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to exclude Exxon Mobil from any oil deals in Venezuela, after the oil giant apparently didn’t display enough enthusiasm during a Friday meeting at the White House.

“I’d probably be inclined to keep Exxon out,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Sunday evening while traveling back to Washington from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. “I didn’t like their response. They’re playing too cute.”

But Exxon CEO Darren Woods said that Venezuela is, at the moment, “uninvestable” unless major changes are made to the country’s governance and security. Still, Woods said he would be open to sending company personnel to Venezuela to explore opportunities.
Venezuela has twice seized foreign oil assets, and Woods said that “to re‑enter a third time would require some pretty significant changes from what we’ve historically seen here and what is currently the state.”
I would love to hear what these guys say about him after these meetings. We get to hear his wild thoughts. But, they have to be leaders.

Hope you all are ready for breadlines!
I really, really hope that the wealthy business interests of the country who have been avoiding any confrontation with Trump because despite the fact that he has lost his marbles, other than tariffs his policies have not harmed business that much. But, this is absolutely bonkers. I hope these people that have gained so much from this country do their civic duty and stand up to this.
Powell's term is up in May.
I think it is time for the Democrats to play the same game the republicans played.
Merrick Garland was nominated for the SCOTUS in March and they blocked confirmation until after the election in November.
If possible, the democrats should block any patsy Trump Fed chair until after the mid-terms and the democrats will most likely control the confirmation process.

I doubt that Venezuelans consider that as a friendly overture. If so, what a bad time to be needlessly stirring them up more. At any rate, it's yet another indicator that Trump is of unsound mind unfit to be president. The 25th Amendment needs to be used. But I guess Republicans would strongly disagree and say that Trump is just joking around as he does a lot. Trump is worse than a joke.
Yes, Trump is worse than a jokester. He said he doesn't need to observe international law because he's not looking to hurt people. Ha, for starters, he hurt or killed many people when he kidnapped Maduro as Ritter points out below.
