Trump 47

President Trump touted his administration’s law enforcement take-over of Washington, D.C., over the summer during his remarks to House Republicans, including a false claim that there have been no murders in D.C. in the last seven months.

Crime data from the Metropolitan Police Department shows there have been about 59 homicides during that time period. In addition, a National Guard member from West Virginia was killed and another was wounded in the capital in a shooting in November.

Reached for comment, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson didn't address the discrepancy, but said, "After years of DC’s crime problem being ignored by local Democrats, President Trump finally stepped in to do what everyone else refused to: Make DC Safe Again. Despite unrelenting opposition and criticism from local and national Democrats, President Trump’s efforts have objectively made DC safer for residents and visitors.”

Dude has gone full on North Korean dictator to the point where he's going to start saying he shot a 17 in golf.

Let's look at the last week. Took out a dictator in another country just because he could (not complaining about that because that guy was awful). Talked about taking over a sovereign territory because we are capable of it. Rewrote history of one of the darkest events in recent memory that he was partly responsible for. Straight up lied about crime statistics in our capital city so that his heavy handed and possibly illegal policy in that city looks better. And its only Wednesday.

But hey, at least we aren't talking about Epstein anymore.

The White House has created a web page that blames Capitol Police officers, Democrats, and Mike Pence for causing the January 6 insurrection.

How about we compare how many Capitol Police officers have been arrested for molesting children in the past year to how many pardoned Jan 6th rioters have. Just unbelievable that he has not been held accountable for this.

Don’t want to talk about ethnic cleansing and genocide of Native Americans, don’t put it in our textbooks or teach about it.

Don’t want to talk about slavery, mass murders, lynchings and civil rights abuses that lasted for another 100 yrs, don’t put it in our textbooks or teach about it.

Don’t want to talk about Japanese internment camps, don’t put it in our textbooks or teach about it.

The list has more atrocities that they don’t want to teach about bc it does more than remind us and the world that while America has done many benevolent things in its history, it also has a history of atrocities and white extremism.

But you don’t grow and change if you ignore what you’ve done. This whitewashing is another example of those w power, corrupt power, will go to great lengths to convince those with unyielded power. That’s what this is. “I am mighty bc I can and do. Because it pleases me.”

What is or is there a red line that he would cross that would cause the American people to take their country back?

Would it be attacking Greenland thus starting a war with NATO?

Or even overthrowing other governments, even our allied ones?

I'd love to know that answer. But I'm afraid we're not even close to that red line / rock bottom yet.

If it wasn’t attempting to overthrow our own government and doing nothing as his vice president was threatened to be killed then I don’t think they’ll be too concerned if he toppled allies.

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters" - Trump. And he's right.

@Rob B. , apologies for only listing you, but I don't know any other supporters by name. What would it take? Trumps recent posts on him personally controlling 30-50M barrels of VZ oil? Does that strike you as odd? What about ICE incident in Minneapolis today and his response there? Suggesting military action against Greenland? Direct quote from the White House: "The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander-in-chief's disposal,".

I'm not giving you media interpretations. No 'he implied this or that' - just direct quotes. I have other friends that are Trump supporters and I'm genuinely curious what it would take for him to lose your support.

I don't know if you whole-heartedly support him or only tacitly. But at some point it's going to come down to 'when do you think someone else should be president?'. Doesn't even have to be a change to democrat; just what needs to happen in your mind to say 'Trump shouldn't be running the country anymore'?

I didn't see where he threatened military action against Greenland, if true, that would be unforgivable. Saying "he" controls the VZ oil is typical Orange rhetoric and if he should just shut his mouth about stupid crap like that, but he can't, he has to continuously troll and it's extremely childish. Like I've said before, he has never been my top choice, but he was a lot higher than his 3 opponents.

As far as the Minnesota incident, the woman clearly tried to block their path, then tried to run over them and actually ran over one agent's foot. I see that now Tim Walz is threatening to call up the Minnesota national guard to do battle with ICE.
Whose response to that tragedy do you think is worse?

Greenland - Just the official quote from the White House: "The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander-in-chief's disposal,". I'm not sure how else to take other than a veiled threat. It would be like telling all your friends you could kick their ass if you wanted. Even if it's true - why would you do that do your friends?

Minnesota - I've seen more police videos than I care to count where a suspect attempted to flee and ended up hitting an officer. Almost all of them are justified use of force. If you see my post in the ICE thread, this is incredibly tenuous for today's shooting. Coupled with the lack of training, that makes this an incredibly dangerous situation. I disagree on her trying to hit an agent. Her wheels are clearly turning away from them and she is trying to flee. Could you at least agree that maybe sending in armed, untrained and identity covered men to a residential area isn't the best use of federal resources? I can tell we won't agree on the justification, but would you at least say that we should be concerned that it happened at all in the first place?

Walz - he obviously disagrees with federal authorities killing a citizen (again, whether justified or not). If you think someone had been killed unjustly by the federal government, what would your response be as a governor? As for activating the guard, it plays right into Trumps hands. He'll double down with more enforcement, leading to more encounters like this with untrained personnel.

I don't like where any of this leads. But you didn't answer my question, exactly. What would it take to stop supporting Trump? Not the Republican Party. Not the law and order that he represents - that the man, personally, shouldn't be the President.

She wasn’t trying to hit anyone dude.

I want to see if any more footage of the incident in Minnesota becomes available. The footage that I have seen so far makes me want to demand body cameras on all ICE agents. Surely shooting a US citizen in this situation deserves close scrutiny. So far I do not see the woman using the vehicle as a weapon. Fleeing the scene, yes. The ICE agents continue to hide their faces. That practice would make me nervous if I was stopped.
