Trump 47

This is a great read without a paywall. It focuses on Peter Thiel, but delves a bit into J.D. Vance and a little into Trump. It helped me understand more of the reasoning behind the Christian Nationalism and constant division fueled by hatred of others. I’m a bit of a nerd about Girard, so that may be one reason I found this fascinating.

I was in a hurry when posted this article, but wanted to say more.

Thiel is going around the world talking about the Armageddon and the Antichrist. I have never claimed Trump is the Antichrist. I also think Revelation is speaking to the Roman Empire of the time, not a civilization two centuries in the future.

But the concept of Antichrist that Thiel believes in is interesting. It isn’t wholly reliant on biblical prophesy. It’s more of a predictable inevitability. The combination of human behavior and societal structure will eventually lead to the end of humanity. And the Antichrist is the “device” that ushers in the end.

Meanwhile, Thiel also believes in a katechon “one who restrains” who holds the Antichrist back and delays our demise. This is referenced in the Bible, but was revived by a German theorist Carl Schmitt who supported Hitler. Apparently Theil endorses Schmitt’s views… and supports Trump and Vance. Thiel recognizes that Schmitt mistook Hitler as a katechon… but may be making the same mistake with Trump.

Sorry. I could go on and on about this. It’s so intriguing.

Stephen Miller brands Pritzker and Chicago’s mayor as responsible for a bloodbath of violence and says Trump stands for peace while they stand for violence and death, demanding it stop.

Trump team drafts plans to prepare for invoking Insurrection Act:

From article, "whether it makes sense to invoke the act." How can if make sense to declare an insurrection going on in the U. S. after Trump having claimed that $17 trillion dollars in investments are being made in the U. S. Knowing that the investors just may want to cancel or delay them. The government shutdown is of no help, either.

Steve Bannon's close friend Jack Posobiec: "ANTIFA has been around for almost a hundred years. It has been one month since we saw a far leftist murder Charlie Kirk, and people like nurses and pilots and doctors and HR departments celebrating his death."

They literally ran a marathon there with 12k runners on Sunday..it's just complete BS

Trump: "You look at Portland, you see fires all over the place, it's like you're waking up from a dream, it's so bad, it's like the movies you see for the kids, not only the kids but the adults also, you have these bombed-out cities, and these bombed-out people, it's worse than that, I don't think they can make a movie as bad."

They might as well hold costumed Halloween parties outside of ICE every night to showcase the absurdity of it all.

Katie Daviscourt: "I had the suspect held for 35 minutes, then 20 ANTIFA militants helped my assault suspect escape into an ANTIFA safehouse, that's one block away from the ICE facility, this is where they're conducting parliamentary operations, resting, showering and eating."

I'm genuinely worried that Trump isn't lying when he says he is seeing "fires all over the place" in Portland

I think it's very possible that Miller and/or Vought are showing him AI generated videos of Portland that he believes to be real

Ok. Obvious nonsense. The primary question to me is why did he say this:
1. Lying. He wants to prove that he can go into a city and crush horrible crime. What better way to do that than to make up the horrible crime in the first place. That way when you declare victory you have near certain success.
2. Confabulation. He gets up there to speak. He remembers that in general he is supposed to speak about crime in Portland. But, he is developing memory gaps so the brain fills in information that isn't true. But, he is unaware it isn't true and believes every word of what he is saying.
Common in Wernicke-Korsakoff (unlikely in a wealthy non-drinker) or behavioral variant fronto-temporal dementia (hmmmm)
3. Delusion. He has a fixed false belief that democratically controlled American cities are crime infested hellholes despite there being no evidence that local government party is the cause of crime rates. Can happen without, but is common in most dementias.

I don't know the answer. I would suspect he is just lying as that has been his way for a very long time. But, the lies keep getting more outrageous, so who knows.

EDIT: Just saw your idea about outsiders feeding him AI generated false info. Possible, but I don't think as likely.

He also has people like this telling him these stories where are obviously completely BS

If they know where the safe house is why don't they raid it?
If the safe house is a block away

She held an ANTIFA member for 35 min and never had back up to help her out ??

And she lacked so much back up that 20 ANTIFA members were able to launch a faring rescue mission to forcibly take back her suspect and no other members of ICE were there to help her?

None of her story makes sense but she delivered it face to face to Trump yesterday
