Trump 47

My first thought was ...wow, very bold with "inability to comprehend". But sadly, I think that you don't. I think you are being honest and truly think only Republicans demonize Democrats.
And your response still shows you don't have the ability to comprehend. Please quote where I said that the democrats do not demonize. You want to argue against the strawman that you created. I said it zero times. You claimed I said it in three posts.

The difference is not simply that Trump is demonizing. It is the way he is doing it. Again, look at that post. It is outrageous from a President. It is not EXACTLY what the democrats do. Your near-quote of Biden is a simple statement with some truth, many Republicans did refuse to accept the will of the people. Sure, demonizing. But not on the same planet of poor statesmanship as Trump's. And, you don't have any quote like this from Biden:

The Republicans will rule in DICTATORSHIP FOREVER because they have STOLEN power in a corrupt process. CHILDREN WILL DIE from starvation!!!!!!! WOMEN will be SOLD AS SEX SLAVES under Republican power......... and so on, and so on for a wall of divisive, inappropriate words.

That is what you defended. That is what you claim is the same, even though any reasonable person knows it isn't. All I asked is for the person that claimed they were exactly the same (and, yes, I even put "exactly" in quotes for people like you) to show the same thing. Nobody has. @cowboyinexile's example of comparing a simple theft and a murder is perfect. It is another false equivalence. I cannot understand pointing out typical mildly poor behavior to justify absurd behavior, but that is the current MAGA way.

You initially responded to a post from someone who simply stated the Democrats demonize. If you admit that Democrats demonize Republicans …why on earth did you reply to his post?? What was a the purpose? Because I have not seen one post from anyone even remotely attempting to defend Trump’s post…but that is what you keep arguing about for some reason.

Even on this post you attempt more whataboutism instead of simply acknowledging @Stargazer’s post was correct and both side demonize the other. It shouldn’t be that hard. And…its not for those that are reasonable and don’t desperately need to defend and justify their side.

Like I replied to @cowboyinexile …just because there is some truth to a statement or tweet does not remotely mean it is not inflammatory. The tweet that was posted by Trump had “some truth” (like you said of Biden’s) but it was divisive and inflammatory. Not sure why you feel such a strong reflexive need to excuse or justify Biden’s statements.

EDIT: Maybe I am wrong on this…but I do think your perspective would be helped if you change some of your media. I think you are making this an anti-Trump/far left vs the rest of the world mentality. And it appears you believe if someone is not far left or anti-Trump then they must be MAGA. There are a lot of Americans not on either of those sides. My recommendation - allsides.com

GOP lawmaker calls for Dem congresswoman to be executed for urging Trump protests
Rep. John Gillette escalates rhetoric despite colleagues’ calls for civility after recent political violence

Arizona Republican Rep. John Gillette has called for Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) to be executed because she wanted people to protest Trump.

According to Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi: “Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment. It’s a crime…You cannot call for someone’s murder…These acts are punishable crimes, and every single threat will be met with the full force of the law.”

Gabbard Ends Intelligence Report on Future Threats to U.S.
Some issues in the document, which is issued every four years, had become politically inconvenient, former officials said.

U.S. intelligence officials have published a public document every four years that predicts what challenges the country and the world will face. Past editions warned of threats that came to pass, including the risk of a pandemic. Tulsi Gabbard’s office is eliminating the group that compiles the report.

She came into her job widely accused of being a foreign asset.

She now responds to those credible allegations by doing the very first thing any foreign asset would do in her role: bury all intelligence on pending foreign threats to the United States.

Sen. Van Hollen: The Argentina bailout is really outrageous. There's no justification other than the fact that the president of Argentina likes Trump. At a time when we have so many people in this country living paycheck to paycheck, for Trump to say he's going to bail out Argentina is a total betrayal of everything he ran on.

Republicans refusing to swear in 218 th vote to secure the release of the Epstein files

Grijalva: I was looking at the example of now-Representative Walkinshaw from Virginia, who was elected two weeks ago Tuesday. The following Wednesday—less than 24 hours later—he was sworn in, with unofficial results.

So for me, apparently the rules have now changed in just two weeks. We’re being asked for official results… So I’m wondering why the rules are suddenly different. And maybe it has something to do with the fact that I’m number 218 on the discharge petition.

They need time to come up with a plausible excuse for Mace to change her vote.

Words matter. He didn't "simply state" he said exactly the same.

If you think any words from Biden/Obama/GWBush/Clinton/GHWBush/Reagan... are similar to that wall of absurdity from Trump, you are not living in reality. The current administration is a huge step-up in divisiveness that we have never dealt with before.

You bring up "media" all the time. I've told you that you are wrong before. This was about my judgment of what Trump wrote, it has nothing to do with any media I read. Your guesses about what I believe are unbelievably wrong. Besides, you are a disingenuous partisan hack, IMHO, and I believe most of the board agrees. Why would I take advice from you? You are what I want to avoid being.

Edit: Maybe I am wrong on this..... but I do think your perspective would be helped if you were not surrounded by MAGAs. How about you leave Oklahoma and live overseas for several years so you do not have such a sheltered worldview and could see how bizarre normal people think your opinions are. There are a lot of people who have rational opinions, and you clearly do not get enough exposure to rational. If you could get a taste of what real statesmanship is like, you might not keep justifying the despicable.

Lindsay Halligan, the newly-installed US Attorney prosecuting James Comey at President Trump's direction, is an insurance attorney and a Miss Colorado finalist. She has never prosecuted a case. https://fortune.com/2025/09/25/lind...colorado-usa-florida-insurance-lawyer-career/
This will be interesting. My read and I’m paraphrasing is that Comey said in a 2017 hearing that he did not authorize or designate someone in the fbi to be an anonymous leaker. Statute of Limitations has run out. The 2 charges returned against him are from his 9/30/2020 testimony to the Sen Judiciary Committee. In response to a Cruz question regarding establishing an anonymous leaker Comey simply said “I stand by my previous testimony.”

Important to note that his testimony was 9/30/2020. The SoL were set to run out 9/30/25. Prior US Atty at EDVA would not bring charges so he was fired 9/19/2025. 11 days before the SoL expired.

That’s the lie they are claiming he made under oath. “I stand by my previous testimony.”

So his original testimony in 2017 may have been a lie but the SoL have expired.

I don’t see how you get a conviction on “I stand by my previous testimony.” How do you prove he doesn’t stand by his previous testimony?

That's probably why the previous prosecutor didn't want to touch it so the administration found someone who is a yes man for the position.

Its just another clown show in the circus. Hopefully Comey gets a decent check when the defamation and libel suit happens after this. Hes has some responsibility in the rise of Trump though so people don't have as much sympathy for him as they should.

Now I get it. It truly is that you don’t comprehend. He never said they said the same thing. He said what they did was the same. Which is 100% correct. They demonize the other party.
You bring up "media" all the time. Besides, you are a disingenuous partisan hack, IMHO, and I believe most of the board agrees.
Yes, I am sure Cori Bush agrees with Ilan Omar and Ayanna Presley. And Jim Jordan and MTG agree a lot as well. You are proving the point. You are attempting to validate your opinion because other leftist/anti-Trumpers agree with you.
Why not try another political forum — my guess is you won’t because you are the type that enjoys/needs confirmation bias.

Why would I take advice from you? You are what I want to avoid being.
You want to avoid being able to call out bad actions by both sides and only look at things through a myopic lens? Okay.

such a sheltered worldview and could see how bizarre normal people think your opinions are.
Unfortunately, you are correct. The 30% MAGAs and 30% AGAMs probably do feel those not consumed by their extreme is bizarre.
you might not keep justifying the despicable.
What am I justifying? Being reasonable and objective? Guilty.

I’ll make this easy for you @steross. I think the Trump tweet demonizes the Democrats and is disingenuous. I also think the examples provided by Biden and Jeffries are as well.

Can you state the same without qualifying your statement?

Firstly, take Jeffries out of this. He certainly is not speaking for an administration. Do you want MTG quotes in here?

Second, no, of course I cannot do that. Trump's statement is bombastic. It is not anywhere near the level of discourse that should be coming from the chief executive of a nation. He isn't campaigning, he is supposed to be leading. It is about as comparable to Biden's campaign statement as Hiroshima is comparable to a stick of dynamite because both are explosions. False equivalency, as was said at the beginning of this.
