I’m not in favor of $5 gas. That’s got all kinds of problems. But think about this.
At a restaurant you drink what 32-40 ish ounces of tea or pop at a meal and pay $3. That’s the equivalent of $9-$10 per gallon for tea? Think about what it took to make tea.
One rig drilling one well costs $12 to $15 million to drill and complete. Then it has to be transported away from the well (pipe/truck/rail) to storage/refinary. The new refinery in Cushing has an estimated cost of $5.5 Billion. Then the refined product has to get transported to a storage farm where it’s transported to a gas station.
This scenario just assumes the oil get refined to gasoline and not international implications.
Today gas in OK is $2.39 per gallon of which 19 cents is ok tax and another 18.4 is Fed tax.
We pay essentially $2 per gallon for the actual product and bitch when it hits $2.75 and put dumb@$$ Biden “I did that” stickers. And then suck down the equivalent of $10 worth of tea and slap our @$$es as long as the tea keeps coming and the chip basket is full.
We are the dumbest mother effer’s to ever walk this planet.
