AI is just amplifying misinformation...but yeah, it actually has worked on people for years before AI...The sad thing is it won't matter. Propoganda has worked for 10000 years. AI and stuff like that is only make it harder to tell the real.
I remember Blumenthal's lies well. Like my father, Blumenthal served in the military while the Vietnam War occurred, but never served overseas in Vietnam. However, multiple times while on the campaign trail for his first run as Senator he claimed he served "in Vietnam". He was caught on camera making this claim at least four different times.

That isn't an innocent mistake. There is absolutely no way my dad would ever introduce himself as serving in Vietnam. Blumenthal lied to make his resume look better and to deceive voters.
