Trump 47

It's likely actual Russian propaganda. I'm sure they're repeating it on Fox News though. Imagine how little critical thought you have to put into something to believe a dude who's country has been at war, defending themselves from an invasion, is living a celebrity life of luxury. His words betray him when he talks about Zelinsky, you can tell who Rob actually believes is the bad guy in all of this. Have we heard him show any similar disdain towards Putin?

This. It's Russian propoganda. The dictator thing has too many holes in it so the next step must be to say he's enriching himself off of this.

I keep waiting for people to take a step back and think about if a bunch of this stuff is right or not. But they can't seem to make the leap.

Putin is the root of all the evil. It would be best for the entire world if he were eliminated. But do we really want a nuclear war with China and Russia. Do you think NATO will come save us if that happens?

Some of you are acting as unreasonable as you claim Trump to be.

Is that you? Neville

Ideologue? Nope, I just want what's best for this country and my children/grandchildren. WWIII ain't it. Your former president coddled this situation into happening by being a weak leader. Trump puts his foot down and y'all are ready to go nuclear. It's ridiculous.
The only way this devolves into WWIII is if Russia thinks they are strong enough to take substantial portion of Europe. Trump flaking out makes that possibility more likely.

I don't think I have ever seen a world leader so transparently compromised. If Trump was CIA, he would be in prison with Robert Hanssen.

No one wants that. But we don't achieve peace with dictators by giving in to their demands. And that seems to be our foreign policy right now.

Putin wants us to cut off Ukraine and get out of Europe. How does giving him more power achieve peace?

Is this you, Hair-On-Fire?

That last comment is scary. Basically celebrating the crazies that support the cold-blooded killer Luigi.
I fully understand disagreeing with how Trump is handling the situation, but like just about every issue — the opposite extremes in the party take it WAY WAY over the top (like the comment from a poster two pages ago on this thread hoping the world treats us like North Korea and Russia).

Exactly.

Seems to me like its either time to kick ass or kiss ass. Doing just enough to say we did something isn't working.

I guess my question is, if this war does actually end soon..... are we really going to make the argument that it was done the wrong way?

Yes. The only way to answer that question accurately will be in 10 or 20 years.

There are quite a few historical examples of appeasement not working out long term.

Chamberlain was hailed for "peace in our time" after giving up czechoslovakia in the Munich Agreement. We know how that one ended.
