Transfer Portal

He might be if he brings his 184 brother as well. Of course there will be a micro leash on him but in today's NCAA world, not sure any one can play the moral high ground game.

*****Note: I am not advocating or condoning but if it happens, so be it.****
Would the dumbass decision of all time to let that POS back on campus to clean toilets much less represent the university on the mat.

"If we do land Ryder…he’ll go 174/184. Facundo is expected to go 174 but could potentially to 165. Jamison could be an option at 157 when it’s all said and done."

"We should be just fine with Tagen/Robideau/Teague at 157. I think the lineup would be better suited with Facundo at 165/174. He's wrestled at 74kg (163lbs) and 79kg (174lbs) last freestyle season. I understand that he could and did make 157 last year but judging from his performance at 157, physical appearance at 157, and weight history, he's likely better suited at 165/174. Even if we do get Ryder from the portal, I think he will likely start over Thompson at 184. I know Thompson beat Ryder in high school but I think Ryder would be a better option. He score's a good amount of points and he beat some tough guys this past season."

We got a guy named Lockett who is a superstar and wants to wrestle 165. So I think he goes 165.

Looking at youtube replays of his matches in Southern Scuffle, he was clearly small for 184. Even announcers said best weight for him was 174. So I think Ryder at 174 , Thompson at 184, Merrill at 197, and Ducet at 285.

So either Facundo goes at 157 (which is weight he competed at in 2024/2025 season) or he left PSU and went to OSU to sit on OSU bench instead of PSU bench.

why?

Again, I’m not advocating.

Actually curious where fans land outside of the moral argument in today’s landscape. Are we playing by different rules? If we are taking a high ground, ok. I can accept that. But why?

Are we the only ones playing by different rules? If so…..why?

More discussion based than anything else.

There's morally questionable and there is going full Baylor.

The transfer portal and NIL, has changed the entire collegiate landscape of decision making. Wrestling is a different creature, as the best wrestlers now appear to be spreading out among the best programs, i.e. Penn State, Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, hell, even Nebraska and Northern Iowa. But care needs to be taken. These are still basically kids. And, you put a head-case in your room, you may be asking for trouble.

Willie said on his show with Basch that he thinks Facundo’s style would be most successful when he’s on full feed and able to just focus on letting it fly. So his call was 174.

The days of the John smith sucking down kids 2 weights are long gone. Facundo will be likely be at 174. Kid was miserable at 157. Ryder and Thompson will likely battle for 184. Thompson is far from a lock to be in the lineup and there’s a reason his mom was hollering on social media about how his son beat Ryder in HS. She’s not happy DT brought him in

To your point, if you think everyone on the teams you root for is a good person, I'm sorry to disappoint you. Where you draw the line is the question.

Ferrari is quite a douche, and I'm not sure why his charges got dropped, but he is going to be standing on the podium at the end of the year wearing somebody's uniform.
