Three time NCAA champion in 1976, 1977, and 1978 at heavyweight. Won the gold medal at the Pan American games in 1979 in freestyle. At 6'6" and 350 pounds he would be too big to wrestle heavyweight now with a 285 lb limit in college. There's a story about JJ stopping a purse snatching on the street, chasing down the purse snatcher from behind. Can you just imagine this giant mountain of a man coming at you from behind?
There ought to be a weight class for anyone who wants to walk out on the mat regardless of size, a super heavyweight, unlimited. When I was in high school in the 70s heavyweight was unlimited. I wrestled heavyweight weighing about 210 or so and wrestled guys that weighed over 300 and beat them. There ought to be a weight class for Jimmy Jackson.
