TCU at OSU

So if Wisconsin Green Bay continues to make the improvement they’ve made from year 1 to year 2, in year 3, or they make the NCAA tournament, do we reinstate the “Bring Doug home” campaign? The timing could work out if Lutz isn’t getting it done next year. And we’d probably keep Montonati regardless.

I’m kidding. Well, sort of…

I was not on board with this at the time of the last hire, but Doug is starting to prove himself.

IF we suck again next year and if GB keeps getting better, I wouldn't hate the idea.

I like his fire. I love Parsah’s answers. I hate the reporters creating drama. Smart ass comments trying to get a click bait answer does not help a rebuilding program. I like Steve. I know he’s doing a ton behind the scenes that none of us will ever see or know. Until he can get a couple years of consistent depth and role players we are going to be on a roller coaster ride. Times have changed. In many of his interviews he mentions we need more resources. That is a direct link to more money to buy better players.

You say "timed have changed" right after you listed something that doesn't happen any more because times have changed. You don't get 2 or 3 years to develop depth. You don't build, you go year to year and hopefully retain good players.

If next years team is good, it will have little to do with anything done this year. I don't want him fired but the fact that his players keep saying "we need to listen to coach" should be embarrassing. Successful coaches get listened to.

I'm willing to say he missed on most of these guys and maybe next year he'll get a crop of guys that will buy in.

But this is really bad and if it's the same next year we need to move on.

He gets paid plenty to be asked the tough questions. I don’t think the OSU/Stillwater media is terribly tough, but if you’ve seen the fan/alumni frustration, they are doing their jobs by asking tough questions.

Every coach asks for more resources. Those “resources” mean one thing…NIL. They want to go out and buy the best players. That makes a coaches life a lot easier if he doesn’t really have to recruit or coach up guys.

I didn’t mean tough questions to coach I meant to Parsah and Christian, first year players in our program. I wish they would filter questions honestly. Ask professional ones not ones that can divide and cause drama. To each their own

A few years ago I would have agreed with you but now most of these guys are making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, free tuition, room and board along with all the other privileges. No longer amateur athletes but paid professional or semiprofessional. They shouldn’t be shielded from tough questions either.

Jamie Dixon has flat out-coached Lutz four times in a row now. The wrinkle of trapping on the pick and roll yesterday killed us, totally threw us out of our offensive rhythm. I expect teams to do it to us the rest of the year.
I think it was Iowa State that realized if you trapped our point guards that we weren’t good enough offensively to deal with. Teams have been doing it to us ever since and we’ve just never figured it out. Not saying Dixon didn’t outcoach Lutz but he didn’t come up with this all on his own

It’s bc we have little to no backside action. Miller just stands in the corner. Teams know if they don’t allow pg penetration and stick to Roy we bog down bc unless we run a sideline called set for Parsa the ball seldom finds the post. And not one of our 3 fours is an offensive threat. And if it breaks down stick to Roy and most times he’ll yank a contested 3.
