Really disappointed w Lutz tonight win or lose. How do you leave Brantley on the bench under 4. Keep running sets that bring 33 away from the paint to top of key. His guy has had 4 fouls for last 9 minutes. Terrible inbounds set up when Dean traveled. Keep inbounding toward their basket.

Thompson is Alan Bowman. He shows a few flashes, but overall a disappointment that makes dumb decisions that a guy his age shouldn't make

The lesson here is two things. First, long term success translates. McCollum won longer and more consistently than the others. The second is that McCollum brought guys with him. Four of his multi year starters went to Drake with him. I watched them play at Charleston Classic and they were a well oiled machine. In today’s world of transfer portal, a new coach HAS to bring guys with him, talent acquisition is key. That was why DeVries was high on my list so he’d bring his son with him. Heck, even Lutz bringing Newman with him was huge for us.

This team is going to struggle against teams that play physical. They have shown it up to this point in the season and it will continue. Not enough talent or size to play through that.
Size continues to be an issue for this team. Opposing team players just shoot over our smaller guys. Does not bode well for the Big12 conference schedule.
But, Lutz will get it rolling, needs time to get in more talent - players that can contain the dribble. That is when the defense breaks down, losing containment on the perimeter.
