I have no knowledge of what happened or is happening. But read some posts on X alleging the forced resignation is resulting in donors pulling hundreds of millions of dollars in donations. Including something involving Garth. If true this may have set the university back at a very in opportune time.
If they do that is unfortunate, but this smells like there was some improper management and movement of funds. Was it actually a crime? I would imagine not. However, public funds can’t be mixed with private funds without the private funds having to be reported like public funds. It’s the law government entities must follow.

I'm 99.999% certain there was no misuse of funds. Greyghost post on X are spot on. Hoping more will come out pubically...the issue runs very deep with Stitt and indian tribes
I do not know Greyghost but what he is posting is what I've heard as well. We need real investigative journalist to dig into the truth. Dr. Shrum, our alumni and University deserve better!
There’s criminal embezzlement and then there’s misuse of funds. If they commingled state money with foundation money that is misuse of funds because of reporting requirements. It happens

So I just skimmed the article. Is this really a big deal? If so, how so?
They misused appropriated dollars and did not inform the Board of Regents. Hopefully all the funds are accounted for, otherwise it leaves the civil realm and moves to the criminal realm.
That's just it. Apparently the BOR legal team gave approval to do it and some of the Regents knew about it. This could blow up into a bigger mess.

If this is true they owe Shrum a huge apology and her job back. You can't have her resign for something you were involved in and approved. Smacks of political maneuvering to me.
