And yes, it sucks. Not 0-10-1 & a near death penalty, but it sucks. Thankfully the program and landscape of college fb will allow a program to turn it around a lot quicker than in those days.
If people don’t think guys are making business decisions now, they’re living in fantasy land.

Offense definitely showed life. Great creativity in the gameplan from Meacham on what was a short/chaotic week. Once the trickery ran out though the offense mostly stalled. Zane was mediocre. 23-41 is not what you are wanting, and probably should have been picked a couple times. He showed some flashes with his arm and legs, but that’s similar to Rangel and Smith the last couple years. I get these are his first starts but being his 3rd year in the program and still playing like a true freshman concerns me.
The defense is trash. I thought Grantham was a ok hire, but its turned out to be awful. He had many years of coordinatoring defenses in the SEC, but what I hadn’t really considered is the offenses he was seeing were completely different than what he was going against now. He looks absolutely lost.

Meachum had more offensive life because gundy wasn’t there putting his thumb on his play calls. It was a breath of fresh air
Our defensive line got dominated. They need more talent on the defense. Wendell was great but the rest on defense couldn’t stop air
