Our season plods forward amidst transition, as a week after letting Mike Gundy go, our defensive coordinator, Todd Grantham was also relieved of his duties.

There is some cause for optimism, as Meacham brought a variety of creativity in playcalling that we have not seen in some time. Can he keep that up and help us consistently move the ball and find the end zone? Will Clint Bowen bring similar improvements despite a couple safeties hitting the portal? We will all find out tomorrow.

I fully expected red shirts and portsl entries but what is going on with the safety position. Is it just a coincidence?

I predict a major spanking!

Don’t know, but it shows what a crapshoot the portal can be if nothing else. Massive portal turnover has worked out for pretty much nobody, but roster retention and selective portal additions have seemed to work out well.

Looking forward to see if Bowen is able to get better effort in terms of tackling and whether some of the departures are addition by subtraction.

Offensively, hopefully the improvement in the OL and run game from last week carry over. For Flores, maybe the run/pass decisions are a tick faster with another game under his belt.

I’m not expecting or demanding a win. I would like to see a wide open offense, good tackling, and no wide open Arizona receivers. Just good football for one game.

Arizona punting 3 times will be an accomplishment. After that I fully expect the offense to move the ball. I'm not expecting much, except for spending time with my Cowboys, drinking a few beers and cooking out. It's going to be a great day.

Addendum: Have got the chicken and ribs on the smoker (was kinda late last weekend), accompaniments ready to go, and on third cup of coffee and Carolans. Pokes by 3, in a nail biter. Sam Jackson throws for two TDs.

Just too easy. How do you allow an inside release by a WR on short yardage in the red zone?
Because you back off the receiver,
Let him come to you and then guess wrong which way he is going instead of covering him from the snap.

Passive play gets passive results. Poor defense. Just more bent over and broke off crap.
