OSU at UA

Anyone here think this is acceptable?

Josh says it is because kids are fighting hard and that fans who say otherwise are not real fans.
It's not acceptable. Those of us on this forum are all pretty diehard fans who watch a ton of games. Josh's excuses and blaming of others is getting old and tired. Those of us who watch often can just about predict the outcome because Josh's teams continually do the same things over and over again, even from year to year as the players change.

Really should have swept this series with the starting pitching you got. But the lack of production and leadership from guys like Schubart and Brueggeman makes you go 1-2. This is the least clutch bunch that has come through this program in a long time.
Not mention poor coaching decisions. When Smith returned today, Ritchie should have gone to third and Jones to the bench. At least LaSalle can play the position defensively and you gain nothing with Jones at the plate.

Schubart, Jones and Breggueman need to sit on Tuesday.

my (defensive) lineup would be:

C: Daughtery
1B: Sylvester
2B: Thompson
3B: Ritchie
SS: Culbertson
LF: LaSalle
CF: Smith
RF: Any young guy that has not gotten a chance
DH: Shull (since many have said he is unable to play the OF due to injury)

Josh blames the wind. Says that we hit 3 or 4 balls that are home runs on any other night.

Gives credit to Shull. Says steps are being taken and that there is a fine line between winning and losing we just didn’t cross the line.

Josh says the untrained eye will point to the score. But the trained eye saw great baseball today and that the kids are fighting hard. Kids emptied the tank and we came up short.

Like I said earlier… anyone who disagrees with Josh is wrong.

Sorry Josh, this "untrained eye" can see the W/L record which is ultimately what seasons are evaluated by. He's been using this excuse since the first week of the season. Well, a trained or untrained eye can see a sub .500 record overall and 5-8 in conference play. The untrained eye sees the constant strikeout issues of your teams and the consistent issues of hitting with RISP and RISP with less than 2 outs because of the excessive strikeouts. The untrained eye sees the same pitchers failing to get the job done in high leverage situations consistently.

Doesn’t take a casual to see the following:

-jones has the yips at third and you continue to play him
-Schubart is a below average defender in the OF and has no range
-Culbertson brings no offense to the team. He’s an easy out
-Brueggy has been struggling since the k-state series and it’s bad. 4/24 coming in the game today.
-the lack of veteran leadership coming out of the bullpen. Too many freshman pitchers and they struggle to throw strikes.
- staff did a piss poor job replacing players like benge and Ehrhard. Good contact hitting with juice. Can also play some elite defense.
- you replaced them with two SEC players who were ass on their respective teams.
- this team lacks depth in hitting, pitching, and defense.

His comment about the potential home runs if not for the wind is a perfect example of why his team sucks offensively. Would have, should have and could have doesn’t win games. That is why his team is below .500 and threatening to have its first losing season in 48 years! Relying WAY too much on the home run to win. They can’t string together consistent hits to score consistently. His entire offensive philosophy is flawed in my opinion.

I'd have no problem with his philosophy if it was successful. When it's clearly not, and he only can make excuses, it is definitely flawwed.
