Oklahoma is going backwards

Wow, from article big time hypocrisy from Walters regarding this quote from him. The next thing to ask is how many thousand$ of taxpayer money are these suits costing?

“Contrary to public servants, these individuals are political activists who have no business being funded by Oklahoma taxpayers." Ryan Walters

Ryan Walters better be worried about all the awful things that were said about him on KOSU's "This Week in Oklahoma Politics". The commentator on the left, unsurprisingly had nothing good to say about Walters. His dept. is in a freefall! He said he has never before seen a political office holder with such a low approval rating as Walters. It's only at .6%! He thinks Walters' constituency is mainly at the national level.

The commentator on the right, Neva Hill, also had nothing good to say about Walters. She even wonders if Republican supporters of Walters running for office will be adversely affected in the primary. She has been the Republican commentator for KOSU for a very long time going as far back as the 1990s at least. The rather lengthy commentary on Walters in the audio begins at around 9:30. There are two other recent past commentaries in which they talked about Walters.

State sponsored atheism in Oklahoma? I doubt Republican legislators will appreciate that comment. Same with Gov. Stitt.

How will religious chaplains be chosen? What if your child is a Baptist, but chaplain is a Catholic?
They don’t care. Indoctrination into their preferred religion is all that matters. And they don’t seem to mind spending OUR MONEY in Court defending there unconstitutional ploys. Be sure to keep your student at home when your beliefs or lack there of, conflict with the ruling majority.

If they get by with having a chaplain in the school, then they will go on to see if the chaplain can start the school day giving a prayer for the school.

It’s a slippery slope that some politicians love sliding on. It helps their grift, and helps them pretend that they are superior. Why wouldn’t you want to be forced into being just like them?

House bill criminalizing common STIs, could turn thousands of Oklahomans into felons

HPV is one of the infections HB 3098 would criminalize. According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, 85% of Oklahomans will have an HPV infection in their lifetime

House Bill 3098, authored by Senator Jessica Garvin and Representative Toni Hasenbeck, could criminalize common STIs and turn thousands of Oklahomans into felons.

Instead of reducing the spread of STIs, experts in the field say the bill would make the problem worse.

According to the National Cancer Institute, more than 90% of sexually active men and 80% of sexually active women will be infected with HPV in their lifetime.

This bill could turn nearly all Oklahomans into potential felons

This bill passed through the House with 78 votes in favor and only 14 against.

Now HB 3098 is waiting on a vote in the Senate.

If signed into law, the act would go into effect on Nov. 1.

So, if you're so promiscuous that you can't name the person who you think you got the STI from, who do you think they will charge with a felon? YOU! No law should be passed that makes people fear they will have to go to prison over having an STI.

This will just make more far-right Christian crazy people want to move to Oklahoma, maybe even the Westboro Baptist Church cult in Topeka, KS who can't forgive KS for not banning abortion.

And, no, the story didn't come from the Onion or the Babylon Bee.

Oklahoma continues to be a state with one of the highest percentages of education funding utilized for administration.

So depending upon the positions vacated..this may be a good thing. We need more money going to our underpaid teachers and less to 6 different levels of administration.
From the articles it looks like these are people leaving on their own and not as part of a performance review. Knowing how the government works, I would guess that it is more likely that the low performers are hanging around and the achievers are GTFO of a difficult situation.

A family member of mine was "retired early" by Stitt from a fairly high-level position in a different state agency where she worked for decades. She was replaced with another director (and political ally of Stiff) who got a higher salary and an assistant who got my family member's salary. Those two have since been fired for inability and replaced.

I'm all for getting rid of people to reduce government waste in an appropriate manner. But, our current government appears to be making those claims while operating the typical good old-boy politics that harms us for years after the politicians move on.

Yep thinking this admin is cleaning house is insane. They are running away people that actually do their job and replacing them with yes men and corrupt grifters. Just like what Stitt and Walters are.
