I’m really excited about the OL coach. Should bring some good ideas in the run game from Marion.

Meh. We were really excited about Dickey, too, because he came from Bill Snyder's teams that did all kinds of great things in the run game. Then we weren't excited, because our OL was terrible during his time.

Evidence suggests that Gundy will try to force these guys to fall under his "safety in simplicity" mindset, and we've seen how that goes. I'm not excited about anything until Gundy proves he can change his own approach.

Maybe Gundy has decided to give up and just collect his paycheck. If so, maybe the coordinators can finally do their jobs without too much interference from Gundy.

Speak for yourself on Dickey, he was a utility hire because Gundy wanted a lesser coach than what we had on staff

I tend to think with a complete revamp of the entire staff on both sides that the coordinators will get to run their systems for the most part. I could be wrong but that’s just my feeling. If so, I think our offense could end up being very explosive. Combining Meachams air raid style with some run game schemes from the Go-Go offense could be very interesting!

I'd love that, but the vast majority of Gundy's tenure is marked by not allowing that to happen.

But who knows...? Maybe he randomly decides to do it this time since he has a more reasonable contractual obligation and legitimate pressure to perform (should be the default for D1 coaches). Would be very refreshing.

These are veteran coordinators that aren’t going to let a HC drag them around by the nose. I think for better or worse, what we see on the field will be what the OC & DC want to put out there.

Sorry chairman but that is BS! Gundy had Grantham and the first choice for OC hired late Thursday early Friday before that whole fiasco on Friday! Robert Allen pretty much confirmed what I heard on Saturday on his show on Tuesday when he went on one of his rants about this whole process and the hiring of the coordinators! Grantham stuck with OSU but the first, second and THIRD CHOICES SAID NO WAY WERE THEY COMING TO BE O COIRDINATOR AFTER WHAT OCCURRED! It is what it is!
