Nanobots to rescue non-motile sperm

Waaaay over my head, and a stupid question; if a couple want a boy, then could this be used to force that orientation?

I'm not sure as the appearance of sperm is essentially identical so the nanobot would need some other method to differentiate.

You can centrifuge the little swimmers and get a 90% separation. They do it all the time for sexed semen in cattle. Throw those nanobots in there and you got a boy or girl maker

Getting way out of my field here but I think that is a bit easier for animals than humans. Although, I am. sure someone will come up with some method.

I wonder what the old term implications this has on the embryo and eventual child. It seems to me there would be a benefit to only strong sperm reaching the egg.
