Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls for Ending Foreign Military Aid to Israel: No More Money for ‘Nuclear-Armed Israel’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) joined MAGA influencer and former Trump aide Steve Bannon on his WarRoom podcast on Wednesday, where she announced she would move to stop any additional U.S. military aid to Israel.

“I’m entering amendments to strike $500 million more dollars for nuclear-armed Israel, and it’s important to say nuclear-armed Israel, because they do have nuclear weapons. This is not a helpless country. And we already give them $3.4 billion every single year in the state, from the State Department. $3.4 billion dollars every single year. They don’t need another $500 million in our defense budget. That’s for the American people’s defense,” Greene began, adding:

That’s for the defense of the United States of America and our borders. And Israel, you can—nuclear-armed Israel, I think it’s really important to phrase it that way. Nuclear-armed Israel doesn’t need $500 more million from the American people. Our government just bombed Iran on their behalf and destroyed their nuclear, Iran’s nuclear problem.

So, I’m entering an amendment to strike $500 million more dollars for nuclear-armed Israel. Another amendment, $500 million for Taiwan. I’m entering an amendment that strikes that. We give them $300 million every year in the State Department. And they just got $2 billion, $2 billion with a B, in 2024 from the foreign aid supplemental under the Biden administration. They don’t need $500 million more dollars. I’m also entering an amendment to strike $500 million to Jordan. Jordan doesn’t need it. They get $1.6 billion every single year from the State Department. So I’m entering amendments to strike those.

But let me give you some that I think are outrageous beyond what I’ve already listed. $15 million for HIV prevention, education, and activities. $15 million for Africa for HIV prevention, education and activities, that is absurd. We don’t need to be doing this anymore. If people don’t understand what’s causing AIDS, then they’re on their own.

Greene has long been one of the leaders of the non-interventionist wing of the GOP, which she claims is now the base of the party. In May, Greene took to X and declared, “I represent the base and when I’m frustrated and upset over the direction of things, you better be clear, the base is not happy.” She added in the lengthy post:

I campaigned for no more foreign wars.

And now we are supposedly on the verge of going to war with Iran.

I don’t think we should be bombing foreign countries on behalf of other foreign countries especially when they have their own nuclear weapons and massive military strength.

Greene, alongside fellow Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), has regularly voted against pro-Israel legislation in the House. Greene voted against all three of the Israel aid bills following the October 7th attack, as well as a bill to force arms sales to Israel to go forward during the Biden presidency.

In Trump first term my wife started to worry because she had taken a. DNA test several years back and showed she was 10% Jewish (no one in her family even knew until that)...she was worrying about the rhetoric of the first term etc for herself and our kids

I laughed it off and told her it was absurd to worry about


Now with what Trump second admin is doing with databases and tracking Americans by health, IRS, data etc etc and building massive tracking databases

Coupled with things like MTG saying this and MAGA going to civil war over Israel and people like MTG ramping up rhetoric to this level and Twitter AI calling itself MechaHitler and going full on antisemitic and the POTUS full on using antisemitic name calling on live TV

I'm starting to think her worries were NOT unfounded and it's becoming very uncomfortable now for us knowing that data is out there
