KSU at OSU

This is the most schizophrenic frustrating team to watch. However, this weekend was highly enjoyable, and it looked like they were having fun again and actually had some confidence. Maybe they had to get to the point where they had nothing left to lose? We all thought that there was talent on this team, but it wasn’t translating to the baseball diamond. If they can propel themselves forward from this win over what was the number one team in the Big 12, they just might be able to salvage the season!

The season is still salvageable.

We found our 1 and 2 starters with Harry and Younger. Mario will be the closer. Hoping Brown can step in as set-up man but he looked a little shaky in his 2nd inning pitched. I like his moxie on the mound. Wech looked better and glad he had a good outing. let's hope Davis gets back to his normal self soon.

Hitting is still a concern... teams with 2 sub .200 hitters in the lineup have a hard time scoring bunches of runs which leads to more pressure on pitching staff. We need a consistent bat in the 2-hole. I'd almost think about inserting Brock T in the lineup instead of Culberson for more offensive punch. Drew is the better SS but if he's not bunting, he's an out. If Ritchie is hurt, move Smith back to CF, Conover to LF and put Brock in 2B. LaSalle is of 0-18 in conference play and his plate confidence/body language looks terrible. Keep giving Shull ABs until he's fully healthy for OF platoon. I like Daugherty and Beau behind the plate, both receive the ball really good and grab a few strikes for the P that would have been called balls. Ian is the better hitter of the two.

Arizona is good but we need to win 1 maybe 2 on the road to keep this momentum going. We're still in reach of our goals.

If I were choosing a batting order, I'd go

1 2B Smith
2 DH Shull
3 RF Schubart
4 1B Brueggy
5 LF Ritchie
6 CF Conover
7 C Sylvester
8 3B Jones
9 SS Thompson

I follow this accout and there is occasionally some good info and good analysis, but also just blind loyalty. There's nothing wrong with positivity, but this is somethign altogether different.
Definitely…I’m not for the blind loyalty. It’s okay to be critical and being realistic about the current state of things. Doesn’t make you a bad fan.

Bitching about the fans? Weather was awful & until Sunday’s DH, the baseball was too. Fans get a pass for both reasons.

Randomly giving a shout out to Pete Hughes??? Uh, no…
The fact that was the first thing mentioned out of all things that was wrong with baseball is wild. Like you said, weather sucked all weekend and some people can’t spend 6 hours at the ballpark.

Better weather and a better on-field product will get butts in the seats. Pretty simple to me
