Blumenthal: “Wouldn’t you agree that no U.S. citizen, simply working lawfully, should be arrested?”

Noem: “In law enforcement operations across the country there are times when U.S. citizens may be arrested or detained until their identity is confirmed and that they haven’t committed a crime.”

Newly unveiled records have backed a whistleblower’s claim that ICE slashed basic training programs covering use of force, conduct of arrests, and firearms training amid the administration's hiring blitz.

BLUMENTHAL: Is the agent who shot Ms Martinez sill on the job?

NOEM: Our law enforcement officers conduct operations every day--

BLUMENTHAL: Is he still on the job carrying a gun?

NOEM: I don't know the details

BLUMENTHAL: Would you agree he shouldn't be?

NOEM: I'll get back to you

BLUMENTHAL: I think Americans would find it absolutely terrifying that agent is still on the job carrying a gun

Raskin: “Based on what you know today, were Renée Good and Alex Pretti domestic terrorists?”

Noem: “There's ongoing investigations…I would think you would want there to still be investigations going into these situations.”

Raskin: “You think that’s an open question?…You stated the conclusion 2 hours after they were killed, that they were domestic terrorists.”

Neguse: Where is this company headquartered?

Noem: I don’t know.

Neguse: I don’t know either. We can’t find it. We did find an address that’s registered to a political operative. This company that received 143 million dollars was incorporated 8 days before this contract went out. You want the American people to believe that this is all above board...

She could not be a worse human being.

Yesterday, Kristi Noem told the Senate under Oath that DHS's $220 MILLION taxpayer funded TV ad was competitively bid.

Today, she told the House it was a no-bid contract.

She completely contradicted herself.

How is the public supposed to trust a “leader" who lies under oath?

Internal DHS records and staff interviews show Corey Lewandowski repeatedly approved large Homeland Security contracts, contradicting Kristi Noem’s sworn claim to Congress that he had no such role.

Until these ELECTED folks actually do something...anything...to hold people accountable for this type of s#!t, it'll continue

Jayapal: Secretary Noem, do you know what the 4th Amendment to the Constitution says?”

Noem: “it guarantees the right to a lawful search and seizure.”

Jayapal: “It protects individuals against unreasonable searches and seizures by the government.”

NEW — Senator Kennedy (R-LA)’s recent questioning of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem raises questions as to whether former DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin’s departure stemmed from Noem’s use of taxpayer dollars to fund a $200 million ad campaign for recruiting ICE agents.

The recipient, Safe America Media, was founded on February 6, 2025, just days prior to receiving a $143M award contract from DHS within the $200M campaign. The contract award was issued on February 14, 2025.

Safe America Media allegedly subcontracted to a Republican consulting firm, The Strategy Group, wherein McLaughlin’s husband, Benjamin Yoho, is CEO.

According to the official Congressional record: "DHS Secretary Noem used taxpayer dollars to fund a $200 million ad campaign for recruiting ICE agents, and that Noem used the "national emergency" declared at the southern border to bypass the normal contract process, which included competitive bidding, to award multi-million dollar contracts to republican-led ad agencies.

One such contractor which was formed days prior to the award, subcontracted with the Strategy Group, a company run by the husband of senior DHS official, Tricia McLaughlin and a close friend of Kristi Noem."

Trump floats firing Kristi Noem in fuming call with GOP allies

President Donald Trump privately asked Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill whether he should fire Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after bruising congressional hearings, multiple GOP figures who spoke with the president told Punchbowl News on Thursday.

The conversations reportedly came after Noem testified before Senate and House Judiciary panels this week, where she faced hostile questioning over the administration’s immigration crackdown and a controversial government-funded advertising campaign.

Trump was allegedly angered in particular by Noem’s exchange with Senator John Kennedy (R-LA), who pressed her on whether the president had personally approved a $220 million advertising effort that prominently featured the DHS secretary. Kennedy repeatedly questioned whether Trump had personally approved the campaign.

Kennedy then warned the campaign risked putting Trump “in a terribly awkward spot.” He also grilled Noem on why the advertising contract went to a firm run by the husband of her former DHS spokesperson, Tricia McLaughlin.

Noem also faced sharp criticism from Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), who has called on her to resign and threatened to slow Senate business until his questions are addressed. House Democrats repeatedly asked Noem about her relationship with senior adviser Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager.

well that seems like Money well Spent....I laugh at people who accuse the Bush, Clinton, Obama and Biden Admins of Wasteful spending and deficit spending.

ICE closing massive $1.2 BILLION 8 Month OLD detention center Trump admin eyed as model after 3 migrants die (1 ruled a homicide) in 2 Months and 60 Federal Violations found

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement appears poised to shutter a troubled $1.2 billion tent detention facility near El Paso, Texas, that opened just eight months ago, according to internal documents reviewed by The Washington Post.

An ICE memo circulating among staff this week indicated the agency is drafting a termination letter for the sprawling Camp East Montana, operated by Acquisition Logistics LLC.

The facility, once touted as a model for rapid detention expansion, has become a cautionary tale of mismanagement and chaos.

"Once seen as the model for a new breed of makeshift tent encampments the Trump administration planned to rapidly build all over the country in its campaign to detain and deport millions of immigrants, Camp East Montana struggled to provide safe and humane housing for thousands of people," the report said.

Three detainees died there in two months, including a Cuban national whose January death was ruled a homicide. Witnesses claim guards choked Campos during a struggle, though Department of Homeland Security officials dispute the account.

ICE's own inspectors found at least 60 federal standard violations in September, citing failures in medical care, legal access, and safety procedures. Detainees housed in enormous football-field-sized tents alleged beatings by guards and denied medical treatment. A measles outbreak recently forced the facility to close to visitors and attorneys.

The facility houses approximately 1,500 detainees, which is half its January peak, in open-top tent pods holding up to 72 people each. Though designed as temporary two-week holding centers, records show many detainees have been confined for months.

Rep. Veronica Escobar called for its closure, arguing the money could fund healthcare and social programs instead of "dehumanizing" immigrants. DHS spokeswoman Lauren Bis insisted "no decisions have been made," though internal memos suggest otherwise. The closure comes as DHS pursues a separate $38 billion warehouse detention expansion plan.
