NEWS: Federal agents who allegedly used false pretenses to enter a Columbia dorm and detain student Ellie Aghayeva have now released her.

This comes after NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he raised her case with Trump today and was told she would be released “imminently.”

University officials say agents claimed they were searching for a missing person to gain access, without a judicial warrant.

Mamdani has Trump figured out. Just kiss his butt a little and you get whatever you want.

Also, not to be weird but the student in question is an absolute smokeshow. If Vance was in the room 100% they had to hose down the couch after the meeting.

Breaking news: A federal judge found that the IRS violated federal law “approximately 42,695 times” when it shared confidential taxpayer addresses with immigration enforcement officials last summer.
These are just pissing me off at this point bc judges find the administration is doing things illegal but there's no consequences for any of it. These rulings are completely toothless unless there's any change in power.

BREAKING🚨 ICE agents impersonated NYPD, flashed fake badges, and used a fake missing‑child poster for a 5‑year‑old girl to storm a Columbia dorm — then dragged a student out of her home.

In the middle of the night, ICE showed up at a locked Columbia University residence hall claiming they were looking for a missing child. Staff thought they were helping police save a 5‑year‑old, so they opened the door.

Instead of searching the building, the agents walked straight to one room: the home of 22‑year‑old international student Ellie (Elmina) Aghayeva, a Columbia senior studying neuroscience and political science. Minutes later, the “NYPD search” ended with Ellie in federal custody, taken from her own bed.

Inside that hallway, this didn’t look like vague “misrepresentations.” It looked like a staged abduction. Fake badges. A bogus missing‑child flyer. A pre‑dawn knock on a student’s door in a building that was supposed to be secure.

Afterward, Columbia’s acting president softened it into legalese, saying agents “made misrepresentations to gain entry” — the kind of bloodless phrase that hides the terror of watching strangers lie their way into your dorm and disappear your classmate.

The sharpest detail is Ellie’s own voice. From inside a vehicle after the raid, she managed to send post on her Instagram story: “Dhs illegally arrested me. Please help.”

That is the sound of a young woman whose parents “sacrificed everything across the ocean” so she could study here, finding out that in Trump’s America, even an Ivy League dorm can be breached with a fake badge and a made‑up missing child.

This is not “law and order.” This is ICE using police cosplay and a fake 5‑year‑old to hunt an immigrant student on campus. It fits a terrifying pattern where non‑citizens, protesters, and people of color are treated as targets first and human beings last. The same politicians screaming about “crime” are cheering on tactics that would be called kidnapping if anyone else tried them.

If ICE can impersonate NYPD, wave a fake missing‑child bulletin, and walk into a locked dorm at Columbia, what stops them from doing it at any university, any apartment building, any home? Power with no accountability will always choose deception over dignity.

BREAKING: Another person has died in ICE custody, per required notification to Congress. The deceased had a history of severe medical complications, was detained for over a year, and didn’t receive necessary care.

The VA reminds us quite often that we have coverage for malpractice under federal law but if we acted with gross negligence or maliciously we would not be covered.

This is gross negligence. There has to be certain officials in the upper chains of these agencies that approved this. They should be held personally responsible when the lawsuits start flying.

I have wondered why the Federal bench has been so restrained as the executive branch has basically said, "We DGAF what you rule. We will do what we want."

Far beyond the time this should have happened:

Judge Vows to End Trump Administration’s Noncompliance ‘One Way or Another’

The federal judge identified 210 orders issued in 143 cases in Minnesota in which he said Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials had not complied with court orders.

The chief federal judge in Minnesota accused federal officials of continuing to disobey judicial orders related to immigration enforcement and then mischaracterizing the scope of their missteps.

The judge, Patrick Schiltz, threatened to hold government officials in criminal contempt if the pattern continued, writing in a scathing order on Thursday that, “one way or another, ICE will comply with this court’s orders.”

And before anyone is thinking "another liberal" judge:

“The court is not aware of another occasion in the history of the United States in which a federal court has had to threaten contempt — again and again and again — to force the United States government to comply with court orders,” wrote Judge Schiltz, who was nominated to the bench by President George W. Bush.

Judge Schiltz, who decades ago clerked for Justice Antonin G. Scalia, had in recent weeks showed flashes of growing frustration and anger with the Trump administration, emerging as an unexpected new critic of the administration’s tactics in court.

So DHS arrested this Columbia Student in off campus Columbia Student Housing claiming that her Student Visa was REVOKED in 2016 Under Obama. They claim she had not been going to classes in 2016 and that was why it was revoked

Even in off campus student housing, Columbia limits On campus and Off Campus student housing to a max term of 5 years or up to 7 years by special extension.

Student Visa's are valid for 5 years max......so would you just say her visa expired in 2021 and she needs to be removed ?

its 2026, this would have had to have been her at Least 10+ Year going to Columbia if their Visa Claims during the OBAMA Admin were true.

For ICE timeline to make sense, this lady would have to be close to 30 years old .

She is listed as a Senior for UNDERGRADUATE Degree in 2026.....so they are claiming she hasn't completed a 4 year degree program in 10+ years

None of this is adding up based on the timeline DHS is providing for her Visa Revocation

You ungrateful bastard, don't you know this admin only goes after the Worst of the Worst. They told us themselves!

I bet you're one of those lucky 40 million American's Trump saved over the 300 Million Americans that died of Drug Overdose in 2024. I can't believe you would question the savior of your own life and his Admin in such a way

Ohh and for what it is worth.

Per this ladies Instagram ....she came to the US to Charlotte North Carolina in 2021 to go to School in the US and later xferred to Columbia

Which better lines up with the timeline that she is an Undergrad Senior in 2026
