How many protesters did we execute in Martha's Vineyard?
And they didn't detain them. They were moved to an emergency shelter and could voluntarily leave to be with friends and family in New York or somewhere else nearby.
How many protesters did we execute in Martha's Vineyard?
NIMBY@Rob B. I think you got outfoxed here.
Protestors? Nobody protested them being removed from Martha's Vinyard. How many protesters did we execute in Martha's Vineyard?
I stand corrected. You outfoxed yourself.NIMBY
@Rob B. I think you got outfoxed here.
That was the whole irony of the right shipping migrants to left leaning cities. The right tried to treat those people as political footballs and those cities took those people in and supported them to the best of their ability. I live in one of the cities that Gov Abbot was busing (not bussing mind you) migrants in from his state and that was what happened here.Yeah. Instead of treating people like animals let's use an example of a political stunt which ended up in people being treated humanely because you completely missed the point of the issue.
He should start talking about how taking over Greenland is a good thing because we would cause less loss of life doing so than what the Vikings did in Europe in the middle ages. Or how Jim Crow laws were a good thing because they resulted in the civil rights movement.
Careful when you talk about the Due Process partAbsolutely fitting that you ignore the hypocrisy.
Im not a fan of calling people illegals.Careful when you talk about the Due Process part
Expedited removal is not an exception to due process
The 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act established the expedited removal process, which allows immigration officials to quickly deport certain people without a court case and with limited appeal opportunities. The act was part of an omnibus spending bill and it passed with bipartisan support in the House and the Senate.
Under this bill 1996 bill passed by CONGRESS
Illegals apprehended at a "Port Of Entry" OR Illegals with Criminal History "ANYWHERE" in the US who could NOT prove they had been in the US for more than 24 consecutive months ...then DHS was provided an Option (NOT REQUIRED) to deport them without any Due Process
Then in 2004 the Bush Administration issued DHS Policy 69 FR 48877 to the Federal Registrar that expanded DHS authority to the Following
Illegals captured within the US could be deported without a court case if they
Are Unable to Prove they have continuous presence in the US for MORE than 14 days
AND
Were captured within 100 Nautical Air Miles from any US Border
AND
Lacked Proper Documentation or Used Fraudulent Methods to obtain documentation.
If these conditions were met the Person could be Deported immediately without Due Process. This Border zone of 100 Miles covers 2/3rds of the entire Population or 200+ MILLION US Citizens to this day.
Obama used these rules and wielded this power with great efficiently and Deported more Illegal Aliens from the US ...More than ANY POTUS BEFORE OR AFTER HIM...and Obama's Admin never requested or issued a Rule Change.
Then in 2019 Trump removed the 2004 100 mile + 14 day Rule set by the Bush Admin and issued a new DHS Rule via Federal Register policy notice (84 FR 35409. Trump's DHS now had regulatory Rule to remove any Illegal captured ANYWHER in the US who could NOT prove they had been in the US for at least 2 Consecutive Years
In 2022 the Biden DHS rescinded the Trump DHS Rule and restored the 2004 Bush Admin DHS Policy of
apprehended within 100 miles of the border, and
• present in the U.S. for less than 14 days
On Jan 20th 2025 Trump DHS issued a Federal Register Notice to Remove the 100 MILE border Limit Rule AND Restore
it to nationwide AND restored the 2 YEAR Rule.
So as it stands right Now. Trump's expedited Removal DHS Regulation states that ICE can any illegal apprehended anywhere in the country who CAN NOT PROVE they have been in the United States for 24 Consecutive Months can be deported without a Trial or seeing a Judge.
There were means in place to deport ANY of those illegals who were sent to Martha's Vineyard in 2022 without seeing a Judge if they fell into the confines of the 2004 Bush DHS Policy.
The argument today is that TRUMP isn't following his OWN rules with the 2 YEAR Part....They are detaining and deporting Immigrants with NO DUE PROCESS regardless of how long they have been here.
BY LAW as written RIGHT NOW. Any Illegal caught in the US who can prove they have been in the US for more than 24 Consecutive months MUST BE PROVIDED DUE PROCESS.......ICE and TRUMP are IGNORING this and breaking the law every time they do.
The irony is there were zero protests over this. So what changed? That was the whole irony of the right shipping migrants to left leaning cities. Now the right is going into the same communities it bused those people too trying to put them into concentration camps and deport them saying we are harboring migrants. No joke, you shipped them to US! And we gladly took them into our communities and want them to stay.
Hatred and xenophobia makes people incredibly stupid.
I don't live there, so I could not tell you. What I will say is that the national consciousnesses of what ICE was up to was less in May of 2025 than it is now. If they tried that now, there would likely be protests. The irony is there were zero protests over this. So what changed?
